A unique hotel built in the 1700's, and today a charming option for those wishing to stay in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz. Fully renovated to its former elegance, the Marquesa Hotel offers guests a lovely alternative to the tourist-packed, resort-complexes that most visitors to Tenerife are subject to. Situated in a pedestrian only zone of the city, the hotel is just 700 meters from the nearest beach, and to the rear of the hotel is a small swimming pool with sun lounges and plenty of shade to escape the unforgiving heat of Tenerife. There is also a restaurant within the hotel, serving a good choice of authentic regional dishes, plus a good selection of imported beers and wines. The town itself is typically Canarian, with lovely Spanish colonial architecture, friendly bars and cafes, and the laid-back pace of life that Tenerife is well-known for.
