Extensive renovation, lousy bathroom (had to shower in the toilet basically) and the room is a bit too unfresh.

Very much a two-star hotel: clean, efficient, and functional but not much else. Certainly not a memorable stay.
The lobby and restaurant area of the hotel is currently undergoing much-needed renovations to give a bleak utilitarian minimalist space more appeal.. Work is in progress, and noisy from 9am onwards.
There are several categories of rooms in the hotel (I was told at least 4 categories), and you get what you pay for! Lowest category rooms are small, clean and functional, but not pretty or particularly pleasant.
Best part of hotel is its location, and relatively affordable (with Agoda discounts) by Stockholm standards!
* Clean rooms, but some are dated.
* Efficient hotel, great location in Sodermalm right besides Metro line.
* Free bicycles available for guests use.
* Excellent breakfast buffet.
* Free wireless internet.
* Scandic hotel chain is environmentally aware.
* Very small elevators that fit 4 people only. Expect to wait when there are crowds.
* Some rooms have been renovated, others are dated (early 80's style). Apparently there are 4 types of rooms, of varying quality/size. Deeply discounted rooms are often for lowest category. The rooms are clean and functional, but not particularly appealing.
* Very small bathrooms (no vanity to put toiletries).
- Hotel Feature Tip : Free bicycle rental for hotel guests - no better or greener way to get around Stockholm! You can get to the old city in 5 minutes by bike.

Excellent coffee shop called Barista with Fairtrade & organic range just 100 meters away on Gotgatan. Located in Victoria cinema. Best espresso this side of Italy!
