Located next to Parliament House, the Bellevue Palace Hotel has been faithfully restored in keeping with its neo-classsical roots. Heavily detailed interiors are as perfect and picturesque as Berne's idyllic countryside and modernized rooms are both chic and traditional with charged internet access, satellite TV and, for some, views of the alps. Breakfast is an especially memorable affair - served until 11am, it's taken on the terrace with views of the town and the river, an event rivaled in romance only by dinner at the Bellevue, for which guests can request their own personal string section. After that, a nighttime stroll through Bern's medieval quarter is the perfect end to the evening.

Very attentive and polite staff who were always willing to help. 9.3 A fabulous hotel in a great location for both the shops and the tourist attractions. The hotel staff could not have done more for us, even providing fruit and chocolate when they realised they'd made an error on our registration. The Terrace restaurant is a great place for a chilled drink looking over the river valley and the faraway hills. Restaurant Tip: You must try the Harmony restaurant, just round the corner for a great fondue.
