Living up to its moniker, this property is opposite the railway station in the middle of busy central Berne. Amid the shops, trams, trains and general vibe of the city center, the City Hotel (sometimes called the Hotel City Am Bahnhof) is perfect for urban cats and travelers with little time to waste on commuting. Rooms are simply decorated and up-to-date, all equipped with wifi and on request, guests can get interconnecting rooms, full-size bathtubs and views over the square. Dining at the hotel is limited to continental breakfast, but from this point in Berne there can be no reason for going hungry, with cafes, supermarkets and restaurants for all price ranges within a few blocks. The Parliament House is a ten-minute walk away.

The room was, however, rather small. If you are just on transit to wawait a train next day, then this is a perfect hotel for spending night. the receptionist was also honest. Lim A. Couples Singapore, January 14, 2011	Adequate hotel but small rooms Location 4.3 City hotel is a hotel that provides the very basics and essentials. The price is a little on the high side but considering the location and being in one of the most expensive city in europe, it's not too bad. It's about 10mins walk (with luggages) from the main train station. Nothing fanciful in the room, no TV, no kettle. There's a fridge that was not working, maybe because it's winter. There's also a mini radio. Not sure if it works. It was hard work carrying the luggages up the staircase that leads to the reception from the entrance. Need some muscle works on that. Spotless white bedsheet but hairs found on the pillow and blanket. Enough to put me off. Floor creaked with almost every step. Adequate for a one night near the train station.

Great breakfast included in price. 8.7 This hotel is directly across from the railway station but the signage is not very clear. It doesn't have the full name of the hotel on the sign. The accommodation was very modern and compact and all that was needed for a single traveller. My room looked directly out into the city centre and was great. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: See the Bear Park.
