Close to the railway station and within easy reach of the old town, this hotel is an affordable base for sightseeing in Berne. Around a five-minute walk from central station, the Sorell Hotel Arabelle is a comfortable older-style two-star close to shops, cafes and the university. Rooms are simply attired with lots of white space and blonde wooden furniture, each with modern bathrooms and an ample supply of natural light. For internet, there's a communal PC in the lobby and for dining, guests can stroll over to the hotel's sister property, the Sorell Hotel Ador, which also offers conference facilities. The old town is a ten-minute tram ride away, if that, and is a pleasant downhill walk from the Arabelle, with plenty of little shops and cafes to discover along the way.

Small room with bad service

We arrived with unpleasant welcome from the reception , reception staff was rude and unfriendly . We don't like the room too , it's small and bed is very small for 2 person . Parking is difficult to find at that area too .

Arrived there at around 23:20 after a long journay. After ringing at the front door, the door opened with a remote control. Nobody at the reception, my registration form and key card were prepared and I filled and signed the remaining fields.
Searching the room went wring, as my room was located in a second building. Unfortunately my key card did not work to enter the second building and not to get back to the reception in the first building. Again by remote control, the doors to get in the second building... but just to see that my key card did not work for my room as well. So back to the reception in the first building(all with remote controlled closed doors....) and getting somehow angry (as it was neamwhile 23:55). By phone someone (whoever it was) explained where the "emergency keys" for all the hotels are hidden and with this key I finally could open myself the door to the second building and to my room. I did not feel too good as there were some more "universal key cards" hidden... however as I was very tired from a very long journay, I was sleeping well. Rooms were big and clean, breakfast OK...

overall it was a pleasant stay. the lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. its a good choice for guests who wish to stay close to the town area and yet away from the hustle and bustle. there are grocery store nearby. simple breakfast but enjoyable.
