In the heart of Zurich's entertainment district, this property comprises spacious rooms, friendly service and a popular night spot. Perhaps Zurich's most openly gay hotel, as the rainbow flags on its facade attest, the Goldenes Schwert provides friendly and comfortable accommodation to guests of any persuasion. Rooms are bright and decorated in a sparing modern fashion, while suites show a little more personality with flowers and interesting objets. Keeping in mind the hotel's alter-ego as a nightclub, guests are provided with earplugs, while those more inclined to be part of the merrymaking can have breakfast delivered to their rooms until 3pm. During the day, Niederdorf has just as much to offer; its narrow cobbled lanes and old buildings the venue for street caf's, book stores and boutiques.

Location of the hotel is quite near to the main shopping area which is convenient. The rooms are spacious.
I find that the room is a bit dark and not enough lighting. It is a bit noisy at night because there is a disco just above.
Overall it is quite an enjoyable stay and good value for money. The rooms are spacious. The location is quite good and within walking distance to the main shopping area and also to the train station. But i find that the room to be a bit dark and also during the night when the music from the disco above can be a bit disturbing unless you wear the ear bud provided.
