Set in the pretty pedestrian lanes of Niederdorf, this budget property provides clean and funky accommodation in the Old Town. A block from the Limmat�s right bank, the Goldenes Schwert Residence is in the hub of Zurich�s nightlife and puts guests amid a vast selection of restaurants, caf�s and clubs, not to mention some beautiful historic architecture. The high-end shopping of Bahnhofstrasse is a short walk away and boats, trams and trains are all easily accessible from this point. Rooms here are white � white walls, white bedding, white showers (although some rooms have shared baths) � and all areas are kept spotlessly clean. The lobby for this residence is located in the nearby Goldenes Schwert Hotel � something to remember when checking in.

Low price and excellent value for money. Why? Rooms were individually and very nicely decorated (we stayed in two different rooms); we thought we paid for a shared bath, but it turned out we had our own shower. Truly service minded staff.
The only weakness we can think of is that there are a couple of quite lively night clubs in the area, so if you need complete silence you should choose another hotel. Another thing is that the reception is located in the "real" hotel (this is the "residence" or "guest house") further up the street.
Of all hotels we have stayed at in central Europe, this was the best value for money. Nice rooms, good location, the prices were the lowest in the area. The staff was really service minded and put a lot of effort into helping us extend our stay with one night although the hotel was practically fully booked.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone who visit Zuerich - young or old, family, couple or solo traveller.
Hotel Feature Tip : Although is says "shared bath" you do have your own shower in the room, plus there is a lot of personality to the place.

Zurich Ins center, easy to find
No, the television was kapot
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Every day subere Handtueger (towls. ins Centrum of the city, so very interesting for a weekend around the city to visit Zurcher and the various loading and trams in the near. The hotel also is near a variety of restaurants, so you can every night eat well and walk there and back.
