wonderful Zurich hotel stay at Swissotel Guest Rating: 4.7

The best Zurich hotels, close to the city area, and in only 5 minutes you are in the middle of the luxury city area and shopping districts by subway or tramway.

Top location, close to city by subway, tramway and bus.

Small rooms, restaurants needs larger menu choices, also needs more vegetarians dishes.

Swiss Re prices are on a higher side. Some rooms are nicer than others. It can get noisy when windows are open. I hope to see internet service inclusive of price in the near future.

The level of security was unexpected. The use of card key to activate elevator and room gave me a real sense of safety. The bedroom was modern and roomy and the bathroom was average. The buffet breakfast was the best we had in our 3 country trek through Europe. Proximity to the railroad (across the street) and the trams made it easy to access the rest of the city.

Lack of free internet access for guests who do not have their laptops with them.

• Restaurant Tip : Not many restaurants nearby and don't expect good/authentic Italian food at the Italian restaurants nearby. Stick with the local cuisine or go with steaks. Better to go into city for a good meal.

The Swissotel is not located within walking distance of the heart of Zurich, but is easily accessible by tram or rail. It is modern and spacious. It has all of the facilities that you would expect from a member of this chain of hotels. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Zurich is a clean and interesting city to visit. Catch the tram from the front of the Swissotel on a Sunday for a lovely day near the lake each Sunday.

Would be good if it was closer to the city for walks.

• Travel tip : Use the trams in Zurich for quick and cheap movement around the city. The routes are very simple to follow.

The hotel offers shuttle service between hotel and Zurich airport with a charge of CH 8 per person each way. Though many hotels around that area offer this service for free.

Zurich Stopover Guest Rating: 4.3

Nice room with view. The pool on the 32nd floor was great. Staff were helpful in supplying information about Zurich. The Couresty van dropped us right outside the hotel and took us direct to the airport.

Comfortable, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great location only 7 mins by train to city center. Nice Breakfast. Good Value.

The hotel has to find a way to solve the problem of their heating system because it is affecting most of the guest rooms. Paying SF 8.00 for the shuttle bus to the airport is not right because all the hotels in the area runs similar shuttle for free

It's a nice hotel good value for the money.

• Shopping Tip : The train is close by. You can catch it in 5 min really and get to Zürich HB, it's 8 min ride. Get off the train you are close Banhoff street. "SHOPPING" HOO! HOO!
