Location, rooftop restaurant, service, free Internet

Not everything in the room worked, no tea or coffee making facilities, small room

This was my second stay in the hotel within a few days. I was disappointed with my first stay and it was only the really nice man at reception who made me ok about returning. However, I soon discovered it was because I was comparing a Turkish hotel with those in China. Don't do that. They are quite different. The rooms are small and there are no tea or coffee making facilities or even a jug to boil water. Bottled water is provided but it has to be paid for. On the plus side the hotel is handily located and within easy walking of all the attractions including the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. The main shopping area is also close by and in fact if you are ok about walking it isn't that far to the Galatta Bridge and beyond. All staff were great, but the daytime manager in particular was really helpful. The hotel has a lovely rooftop restaurant and it was a real pleasure to breakfast there. Free Internet access is provided by way of a computer in the lobby.

Nightlife Tip : I had a lot of fun sitting in a restaurant (after being hustled in myself) and just watching attempts by Turkish restaurant employees to hustle potential customers into their restaurants and cafes. I befriended one of these young men and chatting to him and other staff at the restaurant was also fun and a great way of learning a little about Turkish life and customs.

Cheerful chatty helpful staff, excellent location. Clean room, lovely roof terrace

Air con in room not cold

This is a very centrally located but quiet hotel with very helpful staff. We arrived at 5.45am and they were able to keep our bags and let us have a room at 9.30am. The roof terrace has lovely views of the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia and breakfast is good. The air con in our room was not cold enough, but no doubt this will be fixed.
