Hotel great, disapointing room

We booked a superior room which was lovely but in the basement with very little natural light and a very noisy plumbing system from adjacent rooms.
The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful however when we asked advice about restaurants we were put off the ones we had picked out from the guide book and directed to a nearby fish restaurant where we paid 240 lira for a two course meal with two glasses of wine,way above what we had been paying and we felt we were "ripped off" even at city prices.
Having said all that we really enjoyed our stay. The rooftop bar was a wonderfully relaxing place for an evening drink and the breakfast was superb.

Lovely classic hotel near the Blue Mosque

We booked this hotel because of the good reviews on Agoda, and it lived up to the recommendations. We had a late check-in and were immediately given essential details about the hotel and surrounding area.
The map provided by the hotel (printed by them) is a good starting point but it lacks many smaller streets which makes finding a restaurant marked in their map rather challenging! Do not rely entirely on the hotel map. Also, the restaurants recommended on their map lean towards fine dining types. Thus, if you are on a budget or would like to try something more wallet-friendly, avoid the restaurants recommended by them.
We love the breakfast and free daily tea break, although the selection for tea break is rather limited. There is a rooftop bar which offers an obstructed view of the blue mosque and also the sea. It's nice chilling out there during sunset and for a great picture.
