great location, but tiny rooms

we stayed at the turkoman hotel on excellent recommendations from family members who had stayed there previously. they said make sure you get a second level corner room.. it was great. i emailed the hotel to request this as one of our rooms, as we were booking two double rooms for our family of 4 (with 2 teenagers). when we arrived we reminded them, but they said it wasn't available.. so i said any corner room would be ok. they said they already allocated us to rooms. we went upstairs to find we had the 2 smallest rooms in the hotel. we travel extensively, & these were the tiniest rooms, and we had not paid for budget rooms! we were there for 3 nights and each day we requested just one bigger room.. to no success. the staff were polite and friendly, but we won't ever stay there again.

Great location, OK hotel

Location and views are definitely the top selling points for this hotel. You walk out the front door and are at the Hippodrome within a minute. On the rooftop terrace, you've got a view direct to the Blue Mosque, which makes for a great start to your day. Rooms are basic but clean, but it feels more like a B&B than a hotel. Comfy bed and adequate size. Small shower, but good water pressure. Toilet was placed right beside the wall, which was awkward to say the least. Free breakfast was not bad - basic, but that's what you get everywhere in Turkey. Overall, it was a good experience, but don't expect a 5 star experience.

we loved being able to walk a very short distance to the blue mosque and agia sophia. breakfast was a very good version of the traditional turkish breakfast, but prepared with the best and freshest produce. staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. only downside - no lift and the rooms, though clean and comfortable, are on the small side.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The view of the Bosphorus/Sea of Marmara over the minarets and domes of the Blue Mosque is breathtaking - from your breakfast table.
