It is what it is.

It's a basic budget hotel.
The location is good, but our room (3rd floor) lacked enough water pressure for the shower to work properly. The springs in the bed made it very uncomfortable, and difficult to sleep.
For the price it's okay, but if returning to Birmingham we'd probably spend a bit more for some comfort.

All we needed with great service

We had every possibility of difficulties with our booking because of extensive flight delays, but everything was handled extremely well and with a smile (over the phone). Location is great, especially as we were transitting Birmingham by train. Very much a traditional English hotel - you can read old fashioned - but our room, while smaller than contemporary hotel rooms, was clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

Visit the Balti quarter5 for brilliant curries

very, very near to the railway station so accessible, we arrived early staff were unable to get us an available room but there was no problem leaving our bags until the check in room was ready, staff were very nice and helpful, the bar seemed to be populated by locals but a friendly service also, while rooms were not very modern they were clean with tea/coffe making facilities and small but clean bathroom - for the price i paid i will be staying at thsi hotel again
Nightlife Tip:
its all about broad street, while the streets outside can seem rowdy - the pubs/clubs were all full and had a great atmosphere

Stayed here for one night in October 2011. Check in was faultless and without problem. The lift to the second floor was not working so had to use stairs with heavy luggage so not easy.
Room was compact to say the least but functional. Although the room was clean the hotel could do with a refurbishment, the sealant around the bath edges had gone black and paint was flaking off the window frames.
The bed was not particularly comfortable but the biggest problem was that there were only two pillows in the room and those supplied were wafer thin, consequently I didn't get a very good nights sleep. There were no other pillows in the wardrobe for use etc.
I would not stay here again.

Our rate through Agoda included a full English breakfast and they were really hefty! The spread was substiantial and satisfying.
Location is a few minutes walk from Birmingham New Street Station - it was so near the taxi driver gave us instructions rather than drive us there and charge us.
The young man at the reception desk was friendly and gave us tips on where to go and what to do in Birmingham.
Restaurant Tip:
Try the Sticky Toffee pudding at the Shakespeare pub - yummy!

Great Location for station -good size rooms

Good location right next to New Street Station, a friendly hotel which is like a low 3 star property. room size is good esp. bathroom and quiet if not facing street. staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a bar in hotel opened most nights. Near to many asian restaurants and handy for the markets/shopping. Good value for UK. Recommend for 2 pers. max per room. TV with Uk channels and tea/coffee making in room.
Shopping Tip:
Weekend markets at Bull Ring nearby offer fantastic choices and a fun way to lose a few hours browsing.

Great location but small rooms
Very close to city centre and station. Friendly staff and very clean. The heater is working is very well, which is very important to me in this cold weather. Would like to stay here again.

I wanted somewhere to stay within walking distance of the Conservative party conference. Most places were full and after a couple of hours searching found the comfort inn which checked all the boxes. Its an older hotel but was very clean, the staff friendly and served an excellent breakfast. It would be my first choice on a subsequent visit to Birmingham and is easy walking distance from New Street and Moor street stations.
