An efficient hotel for business use
Good location, decent staff, good restaurant.

Much trouble in maintaining internet connection although a dedicated operator was available to try and tackle the problem. Some of the rooms are tatty in the decor department.

Lovely hotel - disappointed at paying for parking

it was perfect for our visit to birmingham as it was within walking distance of the nia where we were going for the evening. we loved the hotel but were very dissapointed in having to pay for parking as we have stayed in your hotel in surrey and we had the parking paid for. it made the price of the hotel more than we were expecting to pay and less value for money.

mycket bra hotell,bra läge, god mat både a la carte till bra priser, utsökt frukost. Mycket trevlig och serviceminded personal. Om vi kommer till Birmingham igen kommer vi självklart att bo på detta hotell.

Would highly recommend this hotel
Perfect location - everything you need is either right outside or just a short walk away

We booked to stay at the Copthorne (very reasonable price!) as it was a friends birthday night out. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole experience was great.
Breakfast in the morning was first class - all the ladies who were serving in the restaurant could not do enough for you and were extremely friendly and pleasant. There is a stairs near the restaurant which takes you right onto the plaza where there are more restaurants and bars.
Great hotel, great location, great food, I would recommend.

Great location, excellent stuff, dated VERY dated

I have stayed for about a week at this hotel. Though the location is great, and stuff is attentive, the dated interior is a big downer. If you are not too picky it is pretty good value considering the price, otherwise stay somewhere else.

if you like the style of us hotels and motels designed in the late 80ies than you are in the right place. it seemed to me that the last renovation was long time ago. i only stayed for one night but this was enough. the only advantage was the location where every attraction is more or less within walking distance.

Nice staff, tired hotel

the copthorne in birmingham seems like one of the older hotels (although most of birmingham is quite old), close to the city centre and conveniently located near new street train station, the main party drags and the new shopping complex.
while the staff were nice and professional, the building itself is, as a result of its age, tired and a little run down. i had some difficulty with the door to my room as it was quite difficult to lock (this was reported, the staff indicated that they would look into this), and the walls are very thin, so i could hear both the music from the pub across the square on the saturday night, and the music played by guests in the next room on the sunday morning.
speaking of guests, it seemed to me that many of my fellow guests were using the copthorne for a party weekend - potentially both because of its location and the fact that it was a long weekend. this may suit some people, but if you want a quiet stay, then the copthorne may not be for you.
Restaurant Tip:
Bank restaurant just on the Canal system is quite a nice, if pricy, place to eat.

just right for our hen night
decent room for price and in a good spot for night life

Decent sized room, in a great spot at the top of Broad St - as we were on a hen night this was perfect. Beds reasonanly comfortable - nice and well priced early evening meal in restauarnt - overall I would definately return if I was needingb an overnight stay in Birmingham again
