A fine old fashioned country inn
A very interesting building (part of the old brewery) with good rooms, a friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.

we had enjoyed the fine walking offered in the area and came to the fox ready for a good shower and a hot meal. we were not disappointed as the large room (with low ceiling and views over the garden and countryside)was comfortable and had a good sized bath and shower. the inn served bar food, and also had a restaurant where the steaks were superb. there was a good range of the local beers, which had formerly been brewed actually on the premises. the decor echoed the name of the inn, with many prints and paintings relating to wildlife and the countryside. the location was quiet and peaceful and there was a full choice on the breakfst menu.
Restaurant Tip:
This inn is in a fairly isolated spot and if you did not want to eat here you would have to travel to either Dorchester or Blandford for a wider choice. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the food provided here and appreciated being able to stay in, and have a drink!
