Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Great place, don't stay Sat nights, outside noise
Comfort, breakfast location
6.7
This hotel is a typical seaside hotel, it's good on appearances but needs some TLC. Staff were very good as was the food but the place desperately needs double or triple glazing as the noise from druken revellers on Saturday night was unbelievable, going on until 4.00 am. I was woken at 3.00 am by one female outside shouting the sort of obscene language that would have been more appropriate to a dung heap. Sunday was much better. Biggest shock we had was that whilst mentioning there was parking, something I need as I'm partially disabled! Had to find that out on arrival

Extremely noise all night plus expensive parking.
Central location, room size, facilities.

I had read that being on the Kings Road to expect some noise from late night revellers but I was not prepared for it to go on all night only to be replaced by the road sweeper at 6 in the morning. The ill fitting single glazed sash windows may add charm but only exacerbated the problem. At least the hotel provided a note pad which I was able to use to fold single sheets to stop the windows from rattling all night. If you intend to party all night and sleep all day I would recommend this hotel. If not steer well clear. £23 per day for parking is also a bit steep given the cost of the room.

This is a 3 star only hotel not 4 star
5.3
This is a 3 star hotel not a 4 star hotel. The room was clean but bathroom needed updating. Also our room was overlooking a very busy clubbing street and so it was very noisy till about 3am! Staff were very polite and attentive though, but I would not stay there again.

Great hotel with good service
great customer service, big rooms, amazing breakfast choice
9.3
We had great customer service from the moment we arrived at The Old Ship. Checking in was easy and when we arrived at the room I was supprised to see how big in size it was for a standard double. We had a great nights sleep and the breakfast selection and quality was amazing

Better than expected
Convenient, warm feeling and worth for the money.
7.7
my very first time to this town, but this small hotel gave me a warm and elegent feeling. all staff from front desk to house keeping and concierge are very friendly. i was set on 4th floor but wifi was not good, they are very helpful to relocate to 1st floor and help me bring my luggages. good services manner.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Lobby with strong wifi signal while some rooms were very weak, for frequent wifi user may stay lower floor for better wifi signal.

Good location but the hotel is a little shabby
7
staff were very pleasant. the corridors are a bit dingy but the room itself, although small, was clean.
although i had been warned about the high price of parking the car at the hotel it was a shock. per night seems a bit excessive.
Restaurant Tip:
The hotel is very well located across the road from the sea and very accessible to The Lanes which is a lovely area with narrow streets and excellent restaurants and just a short walk from the centre of Brighton.
