Comfort, clean & location

Although they made a mistake on checkout, once it was pointed out it was rectified quickly & efficiently.
Would use this hotel again.

Very helpful staff, quick to respond to problems
Great dinner and breakfast in restaurant. Very comfortable bed.

The great quality of the staff, particularly on Reception, made up for the slightly surreal feeling of staying on a building site whilst multiple renovations are undertaken. That said, I had a refurbished room, which was excellent.Food was very good.

Currently under renovation - not 4 star standard
Location, free wireless internet, fast checkin / out
4.3
Whole lobby area being renovated.
Room was worn out, including mattras. Window was draughty so there was plenty of noise from the street. Room not insulated so could hear noise from next room.
The best thing about this hotel was the location - 5 minutes walk to central train station.

friendly hotel, good services
7.3
Great hotel located not to far away from the city centre, enjoyed my stay and rooms were good size, clean and catered to my needs! Only downside was the shower not the best shower I've ever used but does the job I guess. I would also like to add reception staff were very helpful
Nightlife Tip:
Best night ever! Oceana

Good location and good value
Clean comfortable room, excellent value on a two-night deal
7.3
stayed two nights but didn't have time to use all the facilities. the room was quite acceptable and the bed comfortable.
my special deal was without breakfast and as other reviews didn't much rate the breakfast experience, i didn't try it prefering to stay in bed for a few more minutes.
Nightlife Tip:
leave the hotel, heading to the left over the river and turn right onto welsh back, you'll soon arrive at the old duke - an excellent pub with excellent proper beer and live music (mainly jazz) every night.

Friendly staff and good service
Central location, good ammenties and service

Had a 2 day stay to celebrate husband's birthday and meet up with friends. Hotel was close to the station, 10 minutes walk. First impressions were good as reception staff were friendly and informative about amenties aavailable such as swimming pool and use of gym, times for use of restuarant and bar. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and the restuarant being comfortable and with a relaxed atmosphere where the staff were attentive but didn't rush you. Rooms were compact, clean and tidy but we could have done with more then one biscuit on the tea tray and housekeeping had forgotten to leave towels but were replaced quickly. Unfortunately the fire alarm went off at midnight on the second night but again staff were helpful and informative and safety was of utmost importance.
Travel tip:
Hotel is very central and easy to access town by foot, good shops and restuarants and cinema all close by. Easy access to Bath via rail, bus or car with eclectic mix of shops, tourist attractions and Victoria park for walks and outdoor activities.

Nice & clean hotel. Friendly staff & good bar
choice of smoking/non smoking rooms. Safe & cheap parking
8
warm welcome in arrival. prompt check in
shocked by choice of smoking/non smoking rooms. non smokers would not be affected by any smells!
nice walk to central bristol over the bridge on redhill way and through the park.
avoid rear of hotel (high rise flats area) however had no hassle as a young couple and convenience store close by
parking is cheap for overnight stays however i found road network to be awkward coming back from town centre
all in all a good stay and would definately recommend
Nightlife Tip:
Cross redhill way at the front entrance to the hotel (casino side) and continue left over bridge
Nice cocktail bar over the bridge to the left or continue diaganolly through the park and head into town centre. Nice bars and canal. 15 mins walk if that

Lovely hotel, clean and good service with smile. Room is not bad, not big though but nice and clean. The best one is the restaurant, so good food, good menu and good service. Waiters are polite and helpful.
Great location, just few minutes walk to city centre and shopping centre.
