Rising Sun Hotel, Cheltenham

We arrived on a Friday afternoon, along with two other couples and were delighted to see that the hotel lived up to our expectations and that it's internet report was just as we found it. We were fortunate enough to be given a lovely room with a large bay window, overlooking the magnificent view. Two of our friends had a very similar room, except for the bay window - just an ordinary one, however our other friends were not quite so lucky with their view and they commented that their room was not quite up to the standard of ours. The staff were excellent! They were mainly eastern European but certainly knew how to make guests feel welcome and went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. The breakfast was very good as was the choice of food in the evening. The hotel had a comfortable, good sized bar to relax in alond with complimentary newspapers etc. There was a bus stop directly outside the hotel with buses into Cheltenham, which was much easier than taking the car. Our visit was at the begining of October so we were unable to make full use of the large beer garden. I think we'll just have to return next summer!!!
