actually I made a small mistake when I booked. I thought the train station near the hotel is Waverley so we walked a very long distance to find it. But inside the hotel nearly everything was very good. and the neighbourhood is the famous west end. we loved the architectures there.

Room is quite warm. Good for cold weather.

Staff are nice. Room size was a little bit small so are the twin beds. Room and bath room were clean. Quiet at the night time. Around 15 minutes walk to town centre.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
It is better to buy a bus day pass to travel around the city as well as to save walking between city centre and the hotel.

took in the tattoo and lots of festival events. slept well after the short walk back to the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Learn the bus routes. They are inexpensive and convenient. Edinburgh did not welcome my car.

Easy stop from airline bus
Near bus stop n on a street not on a slope where Edinburgh is mostly slopey streets

Good stay for overnight but you have to take bus to go to the royal mile. If you plan to book for tours for Edinburgh out of town trips, better to book near the royal mile which has a lot of shops , restos in the area... The room was small n no Aircon or heating, just open the window... Good if weather temp around 14-15C, there are no good places to eat nearby .

Its my second time in this hotel and I enjoyed it very much.
the reception team are very nice, welcoming and helping... the people who refresh the room are very nice - I wrote them a note asking for another duck and I got one! :)
Location was perfect, buses, train and not very long walk to the princess st.
rooms are small but nice and it really doesn't matter as I was just sleeping and waking up in it :)
Restaurant Tip:
Go to the Tower restaurant at the chambers st. (Museum of Scotland) try the Tower venison Wellington and the Banana baked Alaska for desert! And Oloroso on the castle st. have an amazing view of the castle.

Besides the pros as listed, there was another point that I liked about the flexibility of this hotel. 1 day before my check in, i changed my mind to check out on a Saturday weekend to visit other place. Just when the terms stated about changes, the quick response to acknowledge my change let me spend my vacation comfortably. Thanks!

Very impressed with female receptionist on arrival. Very professional and friendly. We found all staff to be very helpful. Location good for getting to/from airport and a 10/15 min walk to Princes St. Great bus service also just outside hotel. Paid £10 for full breakfast on 2 morns of our stay and we never had the full breakfast, just the continental. Expensive breakfast (dont agree to full b'fast on arrival). Can highly recommend La Bruschetta, Italian restaurant, close by for dinner.Will def stay here again.
Restaurant Tip:
Kings Wark, pub and restaurant, in Leith also worth a visit. Great food and Staff. Good bus service

after a long day, you will enjoy cozy room. sip a tea and lay down on a nice bed sheet...nothing you may need more than a long sleep night. when you woke up, enjoy walking to the train or ride a bus to the shopping area or tourist attractive area, easy like you are in your country.
