I would stay again, a reasonably priced central hotel with modern features. Service is ok. There is a lot to do in the centre of the city so it must be good to be there if you can. I would go up to the royal mile and see the castle. But overall I would recommend staying at the Carlton.

Internet usage fees were unnecessarily high The hotel was fairly nice as well as close to attractions and the train station. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The lower level entrance was poorly marked and poorly situated. The room had no view and the TV was small. The room was dark.
I found Agoda to be far too complicated a service to be worthy of future use.

Location, Staff, Breakfast, Facilities In relation to the room we got it was a bit noisy and I know this happens in alot of hotels but 2 single beds together is not a double bed. To be honest there are far more pro's than cons regarding the Carlton. The Location with regards to what Edinburgh has to offer is ideal - walk left for old part (Royal Mile), walk right for new town. It really is the best location to explore from. Friendliness of staff, facilities available and the breakfast are also worth a mention.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Camera Obscura building up near the top of the Royal Mile is a must. Tricks of vision, hologram fun and lots more - some of it is even quite creepy! You can even catch your shadow! It's basically 4 floors of holograms and tricks of the eye - all very interactive.
