Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Lovely Hotel
Great location, nice room
8.3
Had a lovely time here but there was little bits that lacked attention. Nail varnish on side table hadnt been removed and there was only one dressing gown in wardrobe. Also alarm ahd been set for 6!! by previous guest which was very annoying. These are small things but staying in a more expensive hotel you expect them to be attended to.

Classic Style with Contemporary Features
The staff at the hotel were exemplary
9.7
I stayed at the Caley recently for 3 nights. The location is fabulous, being a step off Princess Street, in the Shadow of Edinburgh Castle and the Hotel whilst boasting modern amenities retains an old World charm.
The Rooms overlooking the Castle are a premium but the view at night and during the day is fabulous and worth it.
The only issue that I have with the hotel (along with a great many other high end hotels) is the hugely overpriced internet connection which operated inconsistently.
That aside, my stay was fabulous and I wont hesitate to return.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Have drinks in the Caley Bar - The Bar Staff are fantastic

This is a great old hotel in a lovely location. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. Had to be asked to move from first room as view from window was of a wall, but once moved, it was much better and had a lovely stay.

Very central hotel with excellent service
9.3
We have spent wonderful time in Edinburgh and the hotel had much to do with it. Service was excellent, staff was smiling with inimitable Scottish restraint and respect towards the guests. The hotel’s location is so good! Everything is close-by: Prince Street, the Edinburgh Castle and the endless range of restaurants and cafés. Well, a “Hop-in and Hop-off Bus” stops just across the street. During our stay the Hotel was decorated for X-Mas was superb. I will prefer to stay for next time.

Lovely hotel but smaller room than expected
reception, bar and breakfast.

We thought the hotel was very nice indeed but the room was smaller than we thought. We experienced both good and bad service during the stay. The service at breakfast was quite slow on the first morning but then on the second morning, when we slept in past 1030am, the staff still let us come for breakfast even though it had finished and we were waited on hand and foot. Thought it was excellent service. We then however discovered there was maintenance work going on and we had no hot water! We therefore had to have a feezing cold shower before checking out. I wrote a complaint after getting back and the staff have gone out of their way to remedy the situation and offered a goodwill gesture for the prolems we had and couldn't have been more helpful. So even though we had a few issues, they have all been resolved in the end with excellent customer service.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go on a small group tour through the Caledonian Hotel. Ask for Jonathan to be your driver and guide - you will remember your trip(s)for all your life! His knowledge of Scotland and its history is simply admiring.
