London

Capital of the United Kingdom, home of the British royal family, and world center of performing arts, music, and politics. With its iconic stature on the world stage, London always has been, and will no doubt remain so, the world’s most scintillating capital. Regardless of one’s reasons for being in London, be it business or pleasure, this amazing city captivates everyone who visits.

London hotels are spread across the city, though most of them are on the north side of the river, making accessing the major attractions a simple case of hopping on and off the tube. Most visitors begin their day of site seeing from Trafalgar Square, and the historic districts of Oxford and Regent Streets. From here, regardless of which direction one travels, the famous attractions of London fan out one after the other. Not-to-be-missed sites include Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, The London Eye (book well ahead), Camden Markets, Hyde Park and the fabulously wealthy neighbourhoods of the West End and Mayfair.

For those with an appreciation of the performing arts, the theaters of the West End will prove a memorable experience, as it is here that every show must make it before taking on the rest of the world. London hotel accommodations in his part of the city are plentiful, though high end, so for those watching their wallet, hotels out of the center are suggested.

Another delightful way of seeing the city, particularly after dark, is to take a cruise on the River Thames. There are many operators, offering varying degrees of style and luxury, slowly sailing up the Thames, past many of the city’s premier attractions
