Great location but small rooms

Went to London to watch football with a friend. We where quite surprised when we got our room which had a single kingsize bed instead of to separate beds as we asked for when we ordered.

Not Impressed with the hotel & staff

This is a first time I paid for a hotel and they put me in basement floor. Not happy at all since the rate is not cheap at all.

Central Location but terrible hotel

Worst hotel experience on a two week trip to the UK. Rooms were small and dingy. The smell of smoke was throughout the room and hallway. There was no way to adjust the temperature. Or in my case turn the heat off. Hallways were dark and wall paper was peeling off in several locations.
Travel tip:
Better off looking for a hotel somewhere else.

Friendly staff, but a tired old hotel

As expected, the room was tiny, but that was okay. The rug was worn through is spots and the pillow on the twin bed was flat as a pancake. They charge for the wifi, but warned me before I used it that it was incredibly slow. I skipped the wifi and went to McDonalds around the corner and used theirs. Finally, after checking out, they charged 5 sterling per bag to store them for the afternoon. That was the first time that I recall such a charge and I have traveled all over the world for the last 25 years including the UK. But, hey, the room was cheap, so I was not too offended.
Travel tip:
Hotel is very close to Covet Garden and the Oxford shopping areas.

房间不是很大，设施嘛什么的挺全的，那种大大的液晶电视，收到的节目挺多的，真是很给力呢 床上用品一天一换，比较干净，上面还散发的一种清新的味道，睡在上面休息得很好，住得挺舒适的.酒店也是非常有名气，下面还有画廊，非常有氛围。

I have been to London few times and I often choose this hotel, it has a good location,good beds and friendly staff.
rooms could stand to be a litte bit bigger, but they are clean which is not always the case when staying in London, so thats good. and concidering the location and cleanliness and service the price is very affordable.

Great hotel location that is within walking distance to the british museum, oxford street. Alas the rooms can get a bit hot and stuffy with only a small window for ventilation. Overall staff were helpful to needs and questions. Wish there were better amenities like a microwave and fan though.

Adequate hotel in great location

Stayed two nights with my son in a twin room. Room was smallish but not tiny and bathroom with toilet and shower was average sized. Staff at main desk is friendly. Potential extra costs to be aware of: breakfast is pounds per person (perhaps there are rates that include breakfast, but if not you can probably do better at several cafes in the neighborhood), and they charge pounds per hour if you request checkout after 10 am; they also charge for bags left at the desk past noon. But overall the Cheshire is a good value for a hotel in a great location.
