Comfort Inn Vauxhall Hotel, London

Comfort Inn Vauxhall is near bus and tube transporation in a neighborhood with several ethnic restaurants to choose from along with a charming pub across the street. An excellent value for the rate paid. Getting in and out of the center of London was simple and quick. Best of all the room was immaculate - which is most important for me.

The hotel is ideally situated for public transport and ease of access to the West End and City of London. Buses to and from central (and South) London stop almost outside the hotel. Vauxhall mainline and underground stations are approximately 500 metres level walk away. Rooms are adequate and clean but single/twin beds a little on the small side but reasonably comfortable. The duvets could be a little larger though. The bathrooms were in excellent condition (I stayed at the hotel twice, in two different rooms), had a good, easily controllable shower and were kept spotlessly clean. The reception and breakfast areas have benefitted from refurbishment and redecoration in the last twelve months, although there was some difficulty in accomodating the number of guests in the breakfast area at busy times. On two occasions it was necessary to wait for crockery and cuttlery to be washed and seating was not always immediately available. The continental breakfast buffet is not extensive but adequate. While the hotel itself does not appear to cater for dining, the local area benefits from a number of good restaurants (particularly Portuguese and Spanish)and take-away food outlets. It is not possible to check in before 2pm although luggage can be left in a side room if arriving early. The area was freely accessible however and in my opinion offered no degree of security for luggage.

This is a modern block of a hotel in a residential hotel about 10 mins walk from Vauxhall tube and rail station. The rooms are uninspiring as is the decor. My room was not very clean. The TV did not work and reception was slow and unhelpful. I spend a lot of time in cheap soul-less hotels but this one is one of the most factory-like I have ever stayed in.
