Located right in the center of the renowned Soho in central London, this Old-England style luxury hotel combines its rich elegance with impeccable location. Right near the Royal Opera House, and walking distance from great shopping, the Courthouse offers excellent views and superb on-foot travel. The rooms, lobby, and reception are no exception to the location, with stunning post-modern and contemporary design throughout it’s hard to imagine you are standing in a historic landmark. Enjoy a glass of champagne in the bar or excellent cuisine at the Silk restaurant, whichever the case you’ll be dining in-style. With such beautifully appointed ambience and elegance dining at the Courthouse will be something special. Also with one of the largest private cinemas in London, immaculate world-class rooms, and a wonderfully friendly reception, the Courthouse Kempinski hotel goes beyond its ideal location and takes the luxury hotel service to another level.

The bar
Featuring stone-clad walls, and floors in contrasting black Indian Mica slate, the hotel bar has low leather seating and a black, cream and copper colour scheme. The Bar is home to the last three remaining prison cells in the building, which have been turned into private booths each seating 6-8 people and are available for private bookings. Serves a selection of light dishes including canapés and paninis, along with a wide range of spirits, cocktails and juices.

Ground floor converted courtroom lit by a huge vaulted glass ceiling and framed with original English Oak panelling. Notable features include the judge’s bench, dock and witness stand which are in their original setting. The menu is based on the historical silk route through Italy, the Middle East and Asia, serving dishes from the different regions with á la carte and tasting menus. Open for dinner every evening except Sunday.

The Carnaby
Informal restaurant with light, modern decor and a brasserie-style menu offering light Italian breads, salads and fish dishes. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and brunch at weekends.

The Waiting Room
Colonial-style tea room with palm trees shading the terrazzo floor from the natural light provided by the vaulted glass ceiling. Open for breakfast, afternoon teas, coffee and desserts every day except Sunday.

Perfect location - very close proximity to Regent and Oxford streets, and the Oxford Circus Underground station. Excellent service and quite nicely appointed lobby and guestrooms. With the booking through Agoda, the room-rate was a considerable bargain for the level of quality of the hotel.

Perhaps not quite a 5-star hotel experience, all-in-all. However, I would give it a solid 4 to 4+. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and we had no complaint with the facilities or service.

Overall, I rate the hotel very highly. We would definitely stay at the Courthouse again. As noted above, the location in London is a perfect location for shopping and shows - very close proximity to Regent and Oxford streets, and the Oxford Circus Underground station. From this station, one finds easy access to most of London as well as London's airports. The service was excellent and the hotel was quite nicely appointed - both lobby and guestrooms.
