fabulous hotels and service with a smile

Clsoe to the motorway so it's a great location for getting to London

Upon our arrival, we were greeted in the way we have come to expect, welcoming smiles, recognition from our previous stays at the hotel. As I am disabled, I asked for a room close to the lift and a couple more items to help me get about and be more comfortable in the hotel. The room, was big enough, clean and inviting, (sometimes a tad too warm to my liking though). We encountered a few problems with the tv set and the staff in reception did their best to accommodate us, but unfortunately the system in the hotel was a little old (so we were told) and couldn't cope with the new (hic)electronics system At breakfast, it was like seeing old friends who welcomed us by name which made us feel even more comfortable, The waitresses there even carried my breakfast plate to my chosen table as I couldn't do so myself due to my disability. The staff at the hotel, from the reception desk through to the waiters and waitresses including "housekeeping", were as pleaseant, helpful and obliging, all of which made our stay as memorable as all the previous times we stayed at the hotel. We are now planning to return on Februare/March 2013 for another experience and to be spoilt some more.
Hotel Feature Tip: try the hotel's own "beefburger" at the bar, nice and thick, medium rare with a side salad and the coldest, tastiest, most thirst quenching Stella one could find anywhere. That was the absolute "end" for me

We arrived on Friday 2/11/2012 where we were staying until the following Monday. I am disabled and a little slow om my feet, but the staff at reception couldn't have been more helpful with a ready smile and calm efficiency. I had asked for a specific room due to my specific mobility constraints and couldn't have been more pleased at the outcome. Everything that was asked from the reception dest (to start with the particular kind of beverage tea, coffee. fresh milk (instead of the UHT pod variety etc.,) was provided most readily. Apart from a minute housekeeping case of the glass pane covering the desks was not kept as clean on both sides as I would heve expected,(but this is a personal preference for my own part). The restaurant which we availed ourselves of was clean, extremely accessible and the breakfast items were varied tasty and plentuful from the cold items whilst thecooked breakfasts did not leave any wish for a better provision of food unfulfilled, both in terms of quality, variety, temperature etc. Whilst the service provided by the various waitressess/waiters could not have been more attentive to our needs, starting from the fruit juice, a choice of hot drinks etc., which had us leaving the restaurant quite full, heavier and satisfied. The bar provided hot and cold snacks, a variety of hot and cold drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic, all served with efficiency whist not necessarily as fast or attentively as one might have expected, but quite acceptable to the less pedantic person such as I am. We left on Monday 15/11/2012 fully rested, satisfied with the facilities provided expected (and delivered) from a hotel with the Hilton's worldwide serious reputation for excellence and service. We are looking forward to our next visit (22/12/2012 - 26/12/2012, and, on a personal basis, I can't wait for that date.

I am a disabled man and this is now the 8th-9th time I visited this fabulous hotel where one is made to feel "special" as one walks through to the reception desk, or indeed anywhere else in the hotel, be it the beautifully furnished and welcoming restaurant or the cafe/bar where one could get an ice cold Stella and watch the world go by. I couldn't get any better attention had I ever dreamed of one. I found the room I stayed in really welcoming, albeit a little too warm at times but very close to the lift and other amenities as I had previously asked. The service is exemplary, wherever one might be, and, should one have a special request this would be guaranteed to take place as expected. The smile's always there and this expresses itself throughout the hotel staff who are there at one's request, be it at room service or elsewhere.

Excellent hotel, best breakfast in UK.

Security could be better, as we were disturbed in the early hours by a manic drunk causing an enormous disturbance in the corridor by our room and bashing on our door. We had to ring the desk and the police were called. Not the hotels fault but it was frightening at the time. Otherwise a busy waypoint for business folk and very efficiently run hotel.

Very poor example of 4 star Hilton Beds not comfortable no air condition in superior room only breakfast was good. Very disappointed with stay out side temp was 28 all areas of hotel were very warm as if one is in desert.

We loved our stay here as the gym and spa were very quiet and even when there were people they were respectful and the children were even well behaved. The room was a good size and the bed surprisingly comfortable and the bathroom was fine. However as with most of these type of hotels the parties do tend to go into the small hours and so sleep was not easy. We did tell this to reception straight away as soon as we got in from our evening out and they gave us another quieter room without any problems, which was great as it had a more luxurious bed!!! However this room was above the restaurant and the piano music played from breakfast time could also be heard in that room, so we switched rooms again!! I would always check if there are any parties being catered for when you are staying. All things considered, our stay was blissful and extremely relaxing :)

Good Service

Lovely and warm, good breakfast service,comfortable beds,pleasent lounge bar.

on arrival we were met with a smile from the female receptionist. these things do matter. we are becoming regulars at this hotel,having stayed in other hotels which are close by, and been really cold, we have discovered that the hilton provides us with just what we require from a weekend break whilst visiting family nearby. it is nice to return after a busy day and have a relaxing drink in the pleasent surroundings of the bar.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The hotel is conveinient for Watford station so not too high a cost for the taxi to the station to then catch the overground train into Euston.
