This hotel once lived as a majestic apartment building overlooking Hyde Park and Marble Arch and its reincarnation is even better as a Marriott property. It was built in 1919 and was converted and renovated by Marriott in November 2003. Since then guests have been choosing it as much for it excellent location on Park Lane at Hyde Park as for its impeccable appearance and truly British flair. Rooms are beautifully decorated but also completely modern. There are multiple phone lines, high speed Internet, excellent in house movies, and a classic desk with a little lamp that throws light perfectly. Some rooms have fireplaces. The 140 Park Lane Restaurant and Bar serves British and European dishes and is quite popular in the afternoon and evenings. Marriott had the right idea when they bought the place and guests who choose to stay here will agree.
