West End -Soho

Famously, the most expensive square in the Monopoly board game, Mayfair includes Bond Street, Regent Street, Jermyn Street and part of Oxford Street. While less grand, Marylebone, to the north of Oxford Street, is home to many attractions such as Madame Tussaud's, the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Regent's Park.

While Bond Street is synonymous with luxury goods and auction houses, Oxford Street is home to both the Selfridges and John Lewis department stores. The intersecting Regent Street houses Hamley’s toy store, the largest in England, and the famous Liberty department store. Saville Row and Jermyn St are renowned internationally for their bespoke suits and tailored shirts.

With a number of lakes, an open air theatre, and various sporting activities, Regents Park is an open space very popular with Londoners. On Sunday mornings, impassioned orators can be heard at Speaker's Corner, across the road from Marble Arch. The London Zoo is situated in the northern part of the park.

The lifelike waxworks of Madame Tussauds are located together with the London Planetarium on Marylebone Road. Meanwhile, galleries such as The Royal Academy of Arts and the Wallace Collection display some of the world's finest art collections.

While Mayfair and Marylebone has some of the grandest hotels in the world, synonymous with ornate décor, afternoon tea and Michelin-starred chefs, the area also has a surprising number of moderately-priced accommodation options available. The district’s abundance of tube stations mean that it is extremely easy to access points of interest.
