Somewhat of a kitsch icon amid London's hotel scene, this kooky 'fashion rock and roll' property is for artisans and eclectics. Like a cross between an 18th century bordello and an eccentric rich aunt's house, it's clear from the outset that the Pavilion is not going to be the average hotel experience. Room names speak for themselves: Enter the Dragon, Highland Fling, Honky Tonk Afro and so on each offering its own odd allure. Common spaces are similarly over-furnished with heavy curtains and chandeliers, moody spaces through which models are regularly draped (the hotel is sometimes the site for fashion shoots). Outside, guests will find themselves within steps of Edgware Road and the tube station of the same name, and if the Pavilion has inspired a fashion overhaul, the Oxford Street shops are a short bus ride down the road.
