This prestigious address was opened in 1927 by King George V and has been a coveted place to stay for travelers in the know. The complete refurbishment was completed a few years ago and the current style is classic simplicity with modern convenience and features pieces by Fendi, Baccarat, and St. Petersburg. Its style does not look out of place among the deep history and dark stone buildings of Mayfair but rather it has managed to fit in and still be completely modern and convenient. The lovely purple fireplace in the lobby is a good example. Rooms are lovely, decorated in muted browns. There is a modern fitness facility, swimming pool, and an outstanding spa. In a city where some hotel rooms are so small one feels claustrophobic, these rooms are refreshingly large and with high ceilings.
