VERY well placed for theatres, which was what we needed. Nice and friendly reception, always someone "on guard" in the evening, quiet.
Cold room, could not change temperature, one lift not working half the time, service in the breakfast restaurant not really up to scratch.
The Royal Trafalgar is a smallish hotel, nice and friendly staff (mostly) and very convenient for TKTS (Half Price Ticket Booth) and also for a lot of theatres which were in walking distance. Lots of restaurants available around the area. Also close to the National Gallery and the Church of St. Martin's in the Field where they have concerts. Also Trafalgar Square is just around the corner.
Travel tip : The best feature for me was that the hotel is one minute's walk from the ticket booth where you get theatre tickets of the day for half price.

From Hyde Park Corner drive along Piccadilly to Piccadilly Circus, at the roundabout take the 4th exit into the Haymarket At the end of Haymarket, turn left into Pall Mall and the next left into Whitcomb Street. Thistle Trafalgar Square is situated 100 yards on the right-hand side.
