We have stayed in Hotel Russel 7 days and have enjoyed it very much. First of all, the location is very good: 1 minute walk to Underground Picadilly line, which is especially good if you are traveling through Heathrow. Picadilly line starts from the airport terminals and come close to the hotel.
Staff was very kind. When we had problem with hot water, they have changed our room without any problems. Breakfast also was good.
Nice hotel, kind staff, good breakfast, great location
Nothing special
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There is a small and nice garden just across the hotel which is good for small children.

I only stayed 1 night at the Russell Square Hotel but for it's price and location i was very impressed. Included breakfast was fantastic. Service was friendly and helpful. They've done a good job of renevating old rooms. Very Stylish, neat & spacious enough.
Great Location. Stylish rooms. Good breakfast.
Internet facilities are very expensive

The hotel is a grand old late Victorian building with lots of coloured marbel in the lobby and on the main staircase and is interesting architecturally as well as being comfortable.
The single room that I had was small, but clean and comfortable, and oddly the bathroom was nearly as big as the bedroom itself!
Overall quite good value for London, not easy to find at the moment!
Handy location for many of London's sights and
very close to Russell square underground station.
Rather small single room, but then this is London!
- Shopping Tip : Turn right out of the hotel and right again at
the first street. A little further along there is an M&S food that is 24 hours (good for middle of the night munchies brought on by jet lag!). Beyond that there is a new shopping mall with a number of restaurants and shops and a Sainsbury's
