Excellent hotel and great location
rooms very good and public areas were very nicely decorated

quality of rooms was excellent, with tea/coffee making facilities. the bathroom was very clean, with plenty of towels. we found all staff extremely friendly and helpful. we had booked a room with breakfast, the choice of food available was very good from cereals and fresh fruit through to a full cooked breakfast. the only minus point was the menu for evening meals which we felt was very limited although the meal we had was very well cooked and presented. we would highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel offers a left luggage facility which is very helpful if you are not ready to leave by checkout time, cost £2.00 per item which is extremely reasonable compared to left luggage at mainline railway stations!

Great hotel excellent service - rooms too hot

this hotel was in an excellent location - nothing was too much trouble for the staff a recptionist remebered me from a previous visit in 2009. the rooms were very clean and to a good standard
we used the carvery on the first night and the food was of a good standard, unfortunately it was evident 2 of the table service staff had been smoking, inbetween service, we could smell this on them quite heavily this stopped us from using the carvery a second time.
the bar was very good and staff were extremely obliging.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Easily found on agoda. Prompt and efficient staff greet you and provide helpful information about local attractions. The bathrooms are small but clean. Bedrooms are modern and comfortable. The bar in the lobby provided a fantastic late night drinks service. Good coffee. The hotel is close to covent garden makets, good restaurants and underground stations.
Nightlife Tip:
See the lion king show, it is so close to the hotel

Amazing location but rooms are just OK

If you want to see London on foot, then this is an ideal hotel. Just minutes from Covent Garden, theatre district, Trafalgar Square, Embankment etc. The rooms are very small and not air-conditioned, but it's clean and the bathrooms are modern. It doesn't compare well to Asian hotels in terms of price and facilities but, hey, this is London. Friendly and helpful staff. About 12 quid in a taxi from Paddington Station if you are coming into town on the Heathrow Express.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You can see many of the major architectural sites of London in just an hour if take a walk in a big loop down the Strand, The Mall, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, The Southbank, Waterloo Bridge and back to the Strand.

This hotel is situted in a convenient location close to Charing Cross tube station with all the shops and services you would expect to find on the high street just outside. Rooms were clean and adequate. Room service was excellent as were the meals in the various restaurants on site. Would definately stay here again!

Great location, but inflexible staff

1) Arrived at 11.30am; flatly told checkin was 2pm; yes I know, but at least try to see if it could happen abit earlier.
2) Asked for extended checkout; flatly refused, not even for 10 min. It was a Mon, am sure an extra 15-30min would not have made a difference to the hotel but nobody saw the need to be helpful.
3) Asked hotel concierge on directions to Leicester Sq as I wanted to try for discounted theatre tickts. He said no need, as he could gv the same discounts but informed for the show I wanted, it was fully sold out during that wkned. Only available at full price, ie 80GBP. I walked myself later and got one ticket for that show for 42GBP for a great seat. So much for honesty of the concierge.
4) Could not access the internet as my room # and name combination could not be located by the system. Called hotel but only answer given was, "it should be able to;" Well, it did not. So I missed out on the free 30min internet access.
5) Concierge charges 2GBP PER BAG for luggage stored after checkout. "read the sign M'am, nothing is free".
6) The hotel's main advantage is the location. Overall the helpfulness and willingness to help tourists were not readily given by their front serving staff- everyone is a stickler for rules and I expected better and was disapoointed.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Get all your theatre tickets from Leicester square despite what their concierge tells you. The authorised ticket centres give the best discount.

Hotel is in a good location and its staff are very helpful.

Not recommended for staying during summer because its rooms have no air-conditioning, and it was very warm the night we were there, despite the small table fan provided.
