Excellent location for access to the centre of Southampton and local stores etc.
Good, clean hotel with very good breakfast.
Also very well located for Southampton Docks and access to the cruise ships departure berths.
Staffing levels are low - and in particular at reception - with often only one member of staff to attend to check-ins, check-outs and to deal with other issues.
This can lead to queues and delays etc.
Despite the Cons mentioned - this is a very good hotel and can be good value for money when booked via Agoda.
The normal rates and rates in travel brochures can be a bit on the expensive side.
In terms of location the hotel could not be better placed for access to various amenities.
With Southampton being an excellent shopping and dining city - I would recommend the Novotel as a base.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Novotel is within easy distance of many useful amenities.
I found that the local taxi drivers were only too willing to advise.
