Nice hotel.......But
Pool area, Staff, Food and drinks
Nice quiet hotel, friendly staff. We have been there 2 times now and will probably come back again. The bad things. This time we got a room that smelled of sewage. staff know it, but placed us anyway in the room. We did not sleep the first night because of the smell, and have to fight the day after to get a new room, not a good experience. the rooms are not well furnished. there is absolutely no room for your clothes. a small closet but no drawers or places to put your clothes, so our clothes were almost 2 weeks in suitcase.Actually it is the worst furnished room I have ever stayed in. But the bed is perfect. Last thing. The hotel takes a very high price for transportation from the hotel to the airport, at a 4 star hotel it should be free or much cheaper.

Not suited for anyone with disabilities
First of all, the room smelled really bad. I woke up in the middle of the night because of the terrible smell. I felt like I was sleeping in a sewer. They of course said they would do something but nothing happened. And the hotel is (regarding Agoda) suited for disabled people. It isn't. Stairs everywhere, no elevators. When we pointed it out to the staff, they called to our room at 11 pm and told us they have a wheelchair available, but how in the world do we even use it with all the stairs everywhere? They don't have a real restaurant, only a pool bar, which was very disappointing. There is a beach, but rocks everywhere and no one is in the ocean as far as the eye could reach. Location isn't good at all, nothing is close, no restaurants. I would suggest staying closer to Chaweng Beach.

Beautiful and relaxing
The design/layout. The beach. The pool
I came to Koh Samui to relax and the place was great for that. However next time I will bring a friend as it's very romantic. Lamai is very quiet and not much to do. 200 baht taxi to go in at night. During the day the hotel provides free transportation Cheweng is busier and more activity and fun. 400 baht taxi each way. The pool is great and the place is beautiful I suggest getting the massage package (pay for 3 and get 4). Getting a massage while hearing the surf is pretty cool. The Villas are nice but the drawback is you don't have a view of the water Down the beach is the Rock Bar. It's a live music venue right on the beac. You have to access it by road however (take the road to the right just before Famiky Mart) It's a pretty cool place to hang out

Very good accomodation, will stay again.
Friendly staff, convenient location, clean room
Granted I've only stayed at five resorts in Samui to-date (excluding Fenix), this one is so far the best I've stayed at. We originally planned our stay with Coconut Beach resort for five days but left there on the second day and came to the Fenix resort. Fenix resort collected us from Coconut Beach resort and upon arrival were very warming with their welcome and assisted us to our room. The hotel even upgraded us at no charge (but obviously we just got lucky, this isn't to be expected every time). The room at first sight was clean, spacious, massive bed, decent lighting (many hotels/resorts have such poor room lighting). The balcony and view was great, however I feel sorry for those below us as our room did overlook all other remaining balcony's, fortunately we didn't have anyone above us that could overlook our balcony. The in-room wifi can be a bit temperamental, but is usually OK. Otherwise I have no complaints about this resort. It's close to a couple of attractions already, overlap stone, valentine stone, hin ta/hin yai rocks. They also provide free shuttle service into Lamai main street. As a suggestion too, walk up the road for about 5 minutes and find a rental shop by the name of M.A Travel. They can assist you with bike rental (even if you forgot to bring your license like I did), boat trips and even a transfer back to the airport. The hotel transfer is a bit more expensive so easier to use this kind of shop.
