Hotel ok if you don't have high standards
Clean, 1920's style, not a lot of guests
The manager is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I can't tell the same about the staff. Breakfast was a bit dissapointing: just 1 bagel (or sometimes croissant) per person with butter, jam (or sometimes cream cheese) and coffee/tea (sometimes juice). Unfortunately they always seem to have problems with their WiFi, so might not work. The 1920's style of the guesthouse was nice.

Room is for people who do not think very much about the accommodation. Room with a traditional flavor. There is a way of life. The lives of real people in the area.

worst choice ever!
nothing is good, sad but true.
Ladies and gentlemen, you shouldnt choose this for whatever reason. Before I checked in, I contacted the manager and she promised to let me check in at 9am as I arrived nyc at 5am. It was near 8am when I arrived. I rang the bell for more than 10 times but no one answered. It was gonna rain. The neighbour of the guesthouse helped me call the staff but nobody answered so he left a notice on the front door let the one and only one staff know that she had two guests staying at his house and waiting for her. At 9am, he rang the bell again but nobody answered and the notice at the front door was take by the staff. I kept waiting until 10am. I saw my friend ,who came to nyc to travel w/ me, come out from the guest house looking for me. She rang the bell more than 20 times and finally sb came out slowly to answer the door. the housekeeper knew I had arrived but didnt contact me as she should have. The a/c in my room always turned off itself for the first 2 nights. We had to keep switching it on for around 20 times until mid night, ot worked. At the 3rd night, the staff changed the a/c but the a/c shut down itself spontaneously as long as it was turned on. We tried to sleep but it was around 90 F so we couldnt sleep. we knocked the staff s door for 20 times ,as we learnt from history, and told her the condition but she replied" turn on the fan" and we explained the fan didnt work unless the light was on and it was not strong enough. she then asked us to open the window and shut her door again. She s simply too rude. we then found out that she knew the a/c was not working properly before we checked in. the breakfast was one baggel and a drink everyday.

Clean, budget room with shared bath and kitchen
It was nice to have access to a full kitchen, clean room, budget price.
This was my second stay here. Helpful staff and a clean room with free internet at a budget price. That's why I came back this year.

Quiet, clean, comfortable.
Easy access to train and bus. Nice neighborhood. Antique hotel.
Clean, quiet, comfortable, easy access to transportation. The continental breakfast was sparse, and based on the hotel website, I expected a bit more activity opportunities from the hotel itself. I basically used the hotel for sleep and shower only. I loved the old feel of the house.

Really horrible guesth House

Our stay in this guest house was a big mistake. The guest house present itself as boutique hotel/bed and breakfast. That is not true. The building was nice, but maybe 30 years ago. The room was really time-worn, main door to the room barely worked, bathroom door was not possible fully closed. Bathroom need refurbishment. Breakfast was really poor, basicaly tea/coffee, subpar apple juice and croissant with jelly. Staff was bored and unattentive. On our last day we asked if we can leave our luggages in the guest house and come back at 4 pm. We did come back 3:55 pm and nobody was there, I had to find phone number on their website and call the manager who came in 20 minutes. We paid for 5 nights in one room. I would expect much higher quality of the room and much better service and especially breakfast. Do not stay there!

Nice hotel in okay area
low price compared to other places in New York
the hotel was nice - and located close to metro, though a bit far away and the area (harlem is not that nice). but i wouldn't say that it is dangerous, as i feared.

Hotel terrível...péssimo
Nada me agradou
Nada do que foi acordado ao efetuar a reserva foi confirmado.No andar em que fiquei,os quartos não tinham banheiros privados , faltavam papel higienico e sabonete. O piso era de madeira e fazia um barulho horrendo parecendo casa mal assombrada, fora as baratas. Sem contar que na recepção não havia ninguém esperando e tinha um telefone para que ligasse e a pessoa te atenderia. café da manhã....dispensa comentarios , bolacha com cafe e só...nada além disso. Apesar disso me retirei e ainda estou sendo cobrado por um lugar desses. Não recomendo a ninguém. Péssima escolha...estou muito arrependido.
