Not a bad hotel at all.
Well priced. Location. Facilities.
The hotel is conveniently located right next to a main bus line and stop, which made it very easy to access. The package was well priced. The view was very nice as you can see mt. Fuji in the distance. I would recommend this hotel for people on a budget.

Nice view, clean and friendly staff
1. We hv selected the right hotel as a first timer to Mt Fuji area. Bus service is good to ferry you and timely of course- no issue for us here even it was slightly a far from others. 2. Ensure to eat out before u return back if u do not want to have the similar typical japanese dinner since no near restaurant around.

The viewing is excellent
The view, dinning and location
I think the location of the hotel is excellent, which not very far from shopping street and very close to the temple. And the viewing also very good, you can see the Fuji mountain when you wake up. While this hotel won't have much service, you need to settle the "tatami" by yourself but also provide enough guideline to teach you how to set it up.

Beautiful scenery, good food, but no onsen
View, room and staff friendliness
It was a little out of the way but that was what we wanted. The view was spectacular (though cloudy so we didn't see Mt. Fuji after all). The communal bath rooms were clean and nice but unfortunately their pipes had burst so we didn't get the natural mineral baths, just hot water. We were overall pleased with our stay. Hakone is a gorgeous place and we will definitely visit again. Just a wee bit disappointed as we also really wanted the full onsen experience too. Otherwise, the staff went above and beyond even for our breakfast and dinner when there were so few customers there. I'm hoping to hear/see Fujimien Hotel in their full glory again.

Fujimien A great escape from city life stress.
Hotspring, Meals and traditional feeling
Was rather taken aback when I have to set up my own futon, but it was a good experience as I felt like a Japanese setting it up for my own comfort. Location is bad only if you want city life or places to go as to get to town you need to wait for bus. But if you are looking for an escape from stress and urban life, this is the best place to be at. Morning breakfast view of the mountains, pastures and Mt Fuji cheekily peeks at you are probably something I would not get back home. It had wifi but only at the wifi lounge which is good, otherwise everyone will be glued to their devices instead of mingle and enjoy as a team. The staff was very polite and courteous, I was overwhelmed by their english proficiency too. Too bad ropeway was disrupted by the volcanic activities nearby but nonetheless the hotel itself was already a great relaxation spot! "A+" grading deserving for that!

Great Ryokan in Hakone Valley
authentic japanese feel, great baths, amazing dining
We stayed for one night at the Fujimien and it was great. It's a nice, affordable Ryokan in the Hakone region. All rooms have a view of Mt. Fuji (when the sky isn't covered that is...). We stayed in the Japanese room, which has tatami and futon. It was nice and clean, with the relaxing smell of tatami! Dinner (kaseiki-style) was simply amazing. Breakfast was also included, which was buffet style. A small table offered coffee, english tea, yogourt and fruits (For those who don't want to try different food), but there was a great choice of classic Japanese stuff, like green tea, rice, okayu, miso soup, tamago omelettes, salmon, natto, sausages, pickles, udon, etc. The baths (onsen) were available between 2pm and 9am, and I was alone every time I went. The staff speaks sufficient English and were always available to answer questions, so we didn't have any problems. It's also located about 10 minutes from the boat cruise (free with Hakone Free Pass). From Odawara station, the bus took about 50min to get to the inn (probably a little less). But the view along the way is great, so we didn't feel like it was too long. Anyways, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Hakone and looking for a more traditional experience at a fair price.
