not where it says it is... but an acceptable hotel
quiet, large room,
let's get the location out of the way first. the hotel says it's in bukit bintang. it's not. it's in pudu. it's certainly close to bb but if you want to be right in the shopping and restaurant action of this part of town, you will be a little miffed. the check-in was efficient and friendly and the room was large, clean and quiet. but there are enough pitfalls to be just annoying. 1/ no mini bar: i arrived late and wanted to relax with a 'drink'. i couldn't get one because the lobby bar had closed and there was no mini bar. 2/ lobby bar: a sensible place to have a little relax when it is open but too few staff (you had to wait ages to even be noticed) and they wouldn't allow me to order food (not even from the room service menu). 3/ concierge: there seemed a distinct lack of knowledge, even about how best to get to the airport. 4/ amenities: bathroom amenities are of poor quality. it would easy to lift their game here. the hotel is acceptable but not the experience i expected with the furama name. i'd try others in bukit bintang first.

Perfect for a short stay.
Location, Service and Breakfast
The Good: I stayed at the family room over the Chinese New Year weekend. The staff was very kind in providing us an upgrade when we had booked 2 individual rooms. The hotel was very accessible and the pool and gym were well maintained. Breakfast spread was wide as well. The Not so Good: The lack of free internet. This was quite frustrating especially for an international hotel. The television in our rooms were a little wonky as well, which can be a turn off for some people. Overall, its a great hotel if you'll be staying for just a couple of days. Enjoyed it!

Nothing's special just like other usual hotels
Cleanness, Friendly Staff, Fast Internet
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights but every morning I face the same foods for breakfast. It's quite boring me. Frankly I didn't enjoy my breakfast. The fruits were also the same every morning (papaya, melon (not sweet enough), orange and water melon). Please give more attention to this. Break fast is one of a hotel selling points to attract customers.

Value 4-star Stay
Excellent deal. Attentive staff. Short walk to Berjaya Times Square and Butik Bintang shopping area.
The check-in was efficient - and we were pleased to learn that (despite getting a brilliant half-price deal with Agoda), they upgraded our Deluxe room to a suite! I think we can thank the lack of business travel during Chinese New Year. Such a huge area for two people on a holiday stay! The buffet breakfast was really good (comparing favourably with other KL 4-star hotels) - and the staff were attentive and helpful. It seemed that most of the staff were trainees, and they tried so hard to please. The first night we had dinner as well, which was excellent in both quality and value. The only glitch was that the menu in the dining room lists a range of alcoholic drinks, but when we tried to order some, were told that they were only available at the bar due to it being a Halal dining room. (If you are going to enforce Halal standards in an international chain-brand hotel, at least mark it appropriately in the menu with "alcoholic drinks can be ordered from the bar" rather than listing what will not actually be served.) And the one small error from the wait staff was to ask us to fill in a survey on the meal, whilst we were still enjoying dessert! (Naturally, this blemish was noted in our response!) We also appreciated the management discouraging tipping, and ordering metered taxis for guests (which avoided us being subjected to paying over-the-odds "tourist" prices). It's only a 5-minute walk to Berjaya Times Square, and Imbi monorail station, but given the roadworks at the moment, it's not a particularly easy one, as the footpaths cut out part of the way - although there is enough vehicular and pedestrian traffic to ensure that personal safety at night is not particularly different from elsewhere in KL. For the money, and the service, and the location, the Furama is an excellent choice.
