This heritage property sits at the edge of Gulab Bagh, which in addition to a rose garden includes a museum, library, and zoo. Other must-see sites in this former princely city include Lake Pichola, Fateh Sagar Lake, and the numerous palaces across the city. At this property, guests can enjoy camel safaris, dance performances, puppetry, a vintage car museum, and after a long day, relaxing Ayurvedic massages. Best Hospitality by the staff and Manager.

Ease of location, hospitality and well behaved staff.
It was wonderful, staff is courteous, they heed to even smallest requirements, cleanliness was wonderful. Good hotel to stay.

More like a two star hotel

heating in the rooms (it was winter), nice terrace for breakfast (although very cold in winter), historical building
Rooms could do with a make-over, all very old, in particular the bathrooms. Breakfast selection is very limited. Staff is slow and mostly incompetent.

Impressive car collection!

Location, food, decor
We only stayed 1 night on our way to Mumbai. Beautiful string, nice car collection But TV not working and they first told us they couldn't arrange a taxi for us to go to the airport?!!!! Then finally called their travel agent and quoted us 1300 RS!!!!!! When we told them we'll write to TripAdvisor suddenly it went "down" to 800 RS. But food was excellent if a bit overpriced and the waiter didn't really speak English. We wouldn't stay there on the full tariff but the deal was great on Agoda.

A garden near the garden

service, location, cleanliness
My stay was lovely except the hotel management has commissioned a pair of quawwali singers to sing each night from seven to nine PM. The singers are not too good and the loudspeakers troublesome. This excellent hotel might consider playing up its strengths as a quiet get away in a bustling city.

Nice play to stay, centrally located

Location, Cleanliness and very good staff. Good parking facility too.
I had visited the vintage car museum in this property on my previous visit to udaipur and that's when i noticed that they housed a hotel also. So I booked it for a day's visit to the city with a few friends. The prime plus point of this hotel is its proximity to all the major attractions like the city palace, lake pichola etc. Also if you happen to drive down in your own vehicle, this hotel has the best parking facility in the whole city palace/pichola area. The hotel belongs to the Royal family of Udaipur hence the staff is well mannered and quite disciplined. We had one of the quickest check ins. The rooms were very neat (although slightly on the smaller side) and the bathroom was quite spacious and clean. WIFI was an added bonus. The complimentary breakfast was also quite pleasant and it was great to have it in the open courtyard while a wonderful morning breeze was playing in the trees. The veg thali that they serve in their restaurant was also a good experience, simple food great on the stomach and agreeable to the tastebuds (but a larger sweet portion would have been most appreciated, just had a tiny coconut barfi). The only slight qualm we had was that we didnt receive any complimentary passes to the city palace museum or the light show. All in all a well rounded place to stay. lacks t

Good location, excellent food (expensive)

neat and clean, genuine 3 star facilities.
We enjoyed the stay here and got the best deal through agoda. The only downside of the rooms is they open onto the narrow balcony/passage which deterred us from keeping the doors/windows open.

Good Hotel with Great Vintage Cars

Location. In the midst of the City but still spacious premises.
the location is good. the spacious premises do not make you feel that you are in the midst of a crowded part of the city. lot of room for improvement in the linen and the furnishings. services and the food is good.

Great Space With Large Shared Balcony

Large Space
Spacious hotel with large bathroom. Clean and looks exactly like the rooms featured on the website. Breakfast was a decent selection of bread, cereal, local dishes, eggs, orange juice, coffee and tea. Shared balcony that connects all the rooms on the floor. Large bathroom but shower curtain is shorter than the top of the tub so expect water to spill out. No toiletries provided. Heater provided upon request. Located 10 mins from the train station by car.

Beware of wait staff at this hotel

room/beds etc were OK
A waiter at this hotel tried to 'scam' us. We ate at the hotel garden restaurant on the evening of our arrival. The bill was approx 1800 rupees - I paid 2000 rupees, telling the waiter the extra was his tip. On leaving the hotel the following morning, we were presented with a bill for approx 800 rupees - the 'balance' of the dinner bill that I supposedly hadn't paid. The waiter said I paid a portion, & then told him the rest (1000 rupees) was for him as a tip! Why would I do that?? Altogether a totally unpleasant ending to our stay.
