Isolated & scarry street
Quiet & Isolated from busy traffic
This is like an open bungalow without Air condition, except inside the room. Most of the room are without windows. The street was a makeshift for the homeless family, where they camp, cook & sleep during the night. The surrounding look scarry & isolated at night.

Staff helpful, friendly. Green leafy park opp
Small pool, friendly staff, air con in room
First night was in standard room, NO window, upgraded to superior room, worth it.Find somewhere else to eat and good taxi drivers out on street to help with day trips at reasonable rstes.

room with no windows paco church/park across road
paco church/park is very nice with large acacia trees and old walls with a foot path. theres a swimming pool.
The room has no windows and no balcony so right there is a guarantee I would never return. Paco church/park across the road is really nice and there is a tiny rooftop pool that's nice. Staff are crappy. Didnt clean our room even with their please clean sign. There is a very expensive swiss? Restaurant downstairs that I didnt bother trying.

Interesting Hotel !!!
Location. Staff.Large Room.
I really enjoyed my couple of days at the Garden Plaza. Hotel is old with large rooms ... It also has a small pool on the roof top. Hotel is situated in a quite area however close enough to walk to the malls etc at Malate.Staff were excellent ... Would highly recommend this somewhat unusual hotel particularly those on a budget.

nights at the garden plaza hotel
location was good ,the breakfast was good ,the reception area
my stay there was ok,if you like it dark in your room then the standard room will suite you well as there are no windows so make sure your watch is working to see what time you wake up the swimming pool is more the size of an over large bath, apart from tose 2 things its an ok hotel 2 star max

Garden Plaza is a good deal for the money.
Staff was helpful, rooms were clean, and the bathrooms were actually up to par with some 4star places
Good value for the money. A little far to go places in Manila without a car.

A sad place
With some imagination and investment, this could make a charming boutique hotel with a courtyard garden surrounding a pool. Unfortunately, the owners have decided to cram in as many rooms as possible and turn the courtyard into a car park and utility area. Corridors leading to the guest rooms are gloomy and forbidding and many rooms have no window. The place looked to me like a serious firetrap and I worried about my safety in case a fire had broken out during the night. This is a shame, because there is so much potential here. The hotel has a great location in a quiet side street on the edge of Malate, The public areas of the hotel are quite pleasant, however guests are given no reason to linger there. Incongruously, the hotel restaurant reproduces the atmosphere of an old Swiss inn and is quite pleasant, and my breakfast was quite good, but guests are obliged to pay for meals and other purchases in cash rather than charging them to their rooms, which I found inconvenient and rather insulting
