Great hotel but the food is too high priced

Staff, rooms, location
Really great location and the rooms are beautiful. Best thing however is the staff. They were amazing with the kids. The food on the resort is okay but relatively very expensive.

Nice villas, Spa was one of the best
Food and drinks are simply overpriced. I don't mind paying for expensive and good quality foods but not at Gaya Island Resort

Beautiful eco resort

Rooms, staff, facilities
Beautiful resort on great island. Staff were very good, rooms were fantastic, we had a kinabalu villa which had a stunning view. Only criticism was the buffet breakfast was quite limited compared with other 5 star hotels, and the water in front of the hotel pool is beautiful, but unfortunately the private beach they have there is a lot of rubbish in that area. They have staff cleaning it but it must be a catchment for the rubbish.

Resort was overall good

Big bath tube, good view, good service
Resort was overall good but bad food and not much choice. Hard to heat up water for bath.

Island resort with good services

Dinning, Beach and services
It is on the Gaya Island outside the Sabarh City, the sea is full of rubbish, but the beach is clean. The Room is large enough, and the services is good. The view of the hotel and the water is nice, with a beautiful weather, you may see the blue sky. The hotel have one private beach. It is very nice. The food is just ok, but you have not much to choose as you are staying in, you have to eat 3 meals inside the hotel.

Very Peaceful, Expensive Food

Beautiful sea, Friendly & Helpful Staffs & Awesome Room
The resort is indeed a nice getaway for couples and will definitely come back to stay here but since the food here is very expensive maybe consider bring extra instant food with you. You'll need them!

Amazing staff, beautiful rooms, stunning views

landscape, views, ocean
I would highly recommend this place. Perfect for honey moons and gateways where you want to relax in privacy. We stayed in a Canopy Villa and Kota Kinabalu villa. Both were amazing however we preferred Canopy villa situated in a lush rainforest. Staff very friendly and amazing. Only 15 minutes by boat from Kota Kinabalu jetty. Overall amazing experience.
