Cute cottages with wonderful views

Views, breakfast, gardens
This is a simple and cute hotel with wonderful views of the El Nido bay and Cadlao island. The rooms are basic but clean, the gardens are lovely and free breakfast was delicious every day. Only complaints would be the hotel could be quite noisy (though this is mostly true of everywhere in El Nido as construction is booming), and the wi-fi was rarely working. Otherwise a nice spot!

Perfect little hidden cottages

Being away from the town, the people, the morning views
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Golden Monkey with Aunt Rose and her wonderful girls. The Golden Monkey is away from the noise and hustle of the town, but close enough to get into the town in 10 minutes. The accommodation is simple, but comfortable- the rooms have nets and fans, and considering you won't be spending a lot of time in them they are perfect. I would recommend staying here for sure!

Overpriced for what you get

quiet location away from town center, pretty garden area
for the price we paid I was expecting more. This was the last resort on our two week trip so we had a lot to compare to. For the price you should expect wifi and hot water. We had neither. They also say they accept credit cards but the machine happened to be down and they asked for my last cash (no ATMS in el nido) which made the trip difficult. They didn't seem to care. There is also no restaurant so you can't stay and hang out during the day. And no outside food. For half the price this would be a great stay, but for their price you expect more.

Worst customer service in el nido

the deluxe rooms upstairs are much better
we were initially impressed with the rooms , found out in the morning we were actually upgraded to there better room (with fridge + private terrace) , however as soon as the building work started at 8am , this feeling soon wore off - after 2 days , we had to move back into one of the standard rooms, which were all right next to the guys with power tools , making alot of noise!!! . No complaint or reasoning to the reception would make them move us back to the better room to compensate - even tho the hotel was pretty much empty ! so settled for a refund and moved down the road. also note this property is accessed via a small path , the tricycles from town do not fit down there , so its about 10 minute walk back into the town , you need to hire a motor bike really.

Brilliant escape

The quaint and comfortable cottages, the breakfast - great selection and delicious (especially the pancakes) and the staff were friendly!

Great Cottage, Okay Resort

Beachfront, Porch, Spacious Room
The beach front cottage itself was great. It was very quiet and peaceful, had a sweet porch with a hammock, room was spacious, clean, and cool and they served breakfast on the porch each day. The complex / resort itself though was just okay though. Most trikes from town wouldn't go all the way to it because it's a small dirt path so it was a 10+ min walk to town each time, the restaurant was closed the whole time we were there, and the WiFi was completely useless. Ended up moving in to town later in our stay

Great place

Quiet, friendly staff, nice cottage
We arrived very late at night but the security guy was informed about us and immediately arrange our check-in, was a big relieve :) The cottage is simple but very clean and nice. It's located 15' walking from the town, so it's quiet and really pleasant walk. Totally recommended.

Location, location, location!

Location, atmosphere, seaview houses
We extended our stay with 2 days because it was so relaxing. Especially the houses with seaview face the best sunsets ever. Walking distance (approx 15 minutes) to the busy part of El Nido that everybody knows. Staying at Golden Monkey Cottages gives you best of both El Nido "worlds". Halfway there is fun surprise: a fantastic restaurant in a historic Swiss-style house where they serve very good French food.

Good Place

A little out of town, beach view close to the room, nice Garden area
Nice stay, but the bungalow nead renovation for the price. Verry helpful stuff to make Island hopping. Walking from the city is about 5 Min, no Problem at Night with some light. Breakfast could be a little bit more choice. All a realy nice stay.

Amazing views and nice garden
Room types vary from a backpacker standard with no AC and sound proofing to a 3 star standard guest room with amazing views and a bit of privacy. We did not agree with a 3 star rated due to the lack of hotel facilities and services. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staffs. Walking is the only form of transportation to and from town. Could be quite uncomfortable under the heat and dust.
