The Gran Hotel Bolivar Lima has the distinction of being one of the hotels which accommodated Ernest Hemingway during his time in Lima. Built in the early 1920’s but recently renovated, the first sight upon arrival are the elegant glass dome ceiling and the grand staircase, which still contains lovely touches of bygone eras such as the parquet floors. Windows open to a magnificent view of the San Martin Square below. Built to receive foreign dignitaries, the hotel is now a Cultural Heritage site. Guests can enjoy their complimentary breakfasts at the hotel’s rooftop garden or take a nice morning dip in the nearby pool.
