Outstanding historic hotel
The building, the staff and the rooftop restaurant
A fabulous stained glass ceiling end hotel, wonderful staff in all parts of the Hotel. A glorious roof top restaurant overlooking a historic square. Very nice rooms and easy access to the airport. You could not ask for more in a big Mexican city.

Art nouveau at its best
beautiful hotel located and with views of the Zocalo, Cathedral and Presidential Palace. Steps away from mayor colonial buildings and churches, pyramids, stores, great restaurants

Historic hotel in central location
Location, decor
This was our first trip to Mexico City and the hotel was a good choice because of its location close to the Zocalo, Palacio Nacional, cathredral and other historic sites. The hotel itself has rather a faded grandeur, but is comfortable and the staff are helpful and polite. The lobby and stained glass roof are spectacular, and the general decor is slightly over-the-top art deco. The internet connection is slow (if that's important to you). There are surprisingly few good restaurants in this central area - more of the fast food and coffee chain variety - but the hotel's own rooftop restaurant and bar are worth a visit for its good Mexican and international cuisine, passable wine list and excellent views over the Zocalo and nearby heritage buildings.

Great location & good service
Location is very convenient. Their terrace offers view of the zocalo and it's just 3 min walk to Metro station. The Lobby & room is nicely decorated with a touch of Victorian style.
We like this hotel and the service. Apparently this is a hotel with history, but they have keep it at very good condition and catch up with time. They do offer free wifi which was not mentioned in the Agoda page. The only thing that they may improve is on noise control or wall material to make it less noisy.

Good location, good service & good room
Very convenient location, near main tourist spots & metro station, feel safe when walking around the hotel. The staff are also friendly & keen to help.
I am overall happy with my stay just that the room is not sound proof at all and probably because I was staying in weekend, there was party in the hotel and the band sound was so loud even at 2am! Moreover, the economy double is surprisingly much bigger than the deluxe Queen! Unless I got an upgrade without knowing it. By the way, they do offer free wifi in the hotel and also complimentary tea & coffee at the lobby.

Beautiful hotel, grand charm and elegance
Staff, staff, staff ... I have travelled the world and they are amongst the best staff encountered!
Aside from the staff, the hotel had an old world charm and elegance to it. The room was beautifully decorated, perfectly situated for an amazing wake-up and a delightful dining area (small but enough). Again, the staff were exceptional, warm and welcoming. I will add on a return through Mexico a few weeks later I stayed in another part of town but came back to the main square for photo's and further exploration. On night fall I was concerned about where to pick up a taxi from, I went in to the hotel to reception to ask and greeted with smiles and concern was offered to sit on the lounge and they would call one. Wonderful experience and will always ensure my Mexico City trips are stayed there.
