A mixed bag.

Location. View. Reception.
Room service was super average and super expensive. Bed & mattress weren't great. Pillows terrible. First time staying with Grand Hyatt Won't come back. I'll stick to Intercon.

Amenities. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The Grand Hyatt is an excellent hotel, amenities are superb and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Location was perfect, out of the busy city centre but still within walking distance of the main shopping attractions. Only one thing I could criticise would be the room service food options wasn't overly extensive. Other than that, 5 star service.

cleaniliness could be better!

Function room, view, location.
Generally our stay was ok! The shower was difficult to maintain heat or became too hot when in it that my daughter was afraid to have showers as it burnt her. The phone in room kept playing up as once I needed to use my mobile to contact reception. The TV on the last night had colour issues but I didn't bother to report as it was late when I was watching so just went to bed. Next day We checked out and I forgot to mention it. My young daughter's soft toy went missing too, so when we checked out they rang house keeping (as the sheets were cleaned previous day) but not found, so nothing else was done. Oh well.

Super Sunday Respite

Room ready on arrival, great, friendly and efficient staff, clean and luxuriously comfortable room
It was only an overnight stay, however I was made very welcome from the first minute, as staff realised it was a return visit from the previous year and acknowledged this. The Grand Hyatt manages the balance between providing a 5 star experience without the pretentiousness that often comes with it and also made me feel very comfortable as a solo traveller.

Location, location, bedding.
Less than satisfied with front desk and concierge; "welcoming ambience" sorely lacking. When we arrived, neither L1 or Front Office staff said WELCOME TO THE GRAND HYATT. My room key card faulty. Front desk fixed it. Handed it back to me without saying a word! I had to asked her if problem rectified. Concierge. I asked for direction to the Mercure Hotel on Swanston St. I was told no such hotel. Apparently she did not know The Swanston Hotel is managed by Mercure. At L1 concierge, I asked for direction to Russell Court. None of the staff is able to help. I eventually found out for myself that it is next to Fed Sq. Point is, your concierge could do with more knowledge of Melb. Lastly, I was billed valet parking; I neither drove or had visitor on the said day. I queried front desk, who said was wrongly billed.

room with a view

position, comfort, view
Was a great play to stay! comfortable, great position, beautiful quiet view for the centre of the city. Staff were helpful and friendly especially the concierge staff. Our room was lovely and clean other than some screwed up foil rubbish behind our couch by the window, off putting in a five star hotel.
