Disappointing stay at Grand Kempinski
Location at Luziahui was good, near IFC, 5 minutes walk from metro
Very disappointed, this hotel is overrated. We overpaid for our room without breakfast. Checkin was horrendous. 4 counters n 4 lines but we still had to wait 20 minutes because staff were very slow. We could not figure out the difference between visitor registration n hotel registration signs, they were the same in the end. Staff spoke good English. Lobby entrance felt like a bus station with touts hanging around although I think it was just Chinese people in shorts n grubby t shirts shouting around. Noisy kids running up n down the lobby. Room was standard n when my shorts fell on the carpet n I picked it up, it was covered in dust balls. A rather dusty room with dusty carpets. We then went to the swimming pool on the 30th floor, nice view. Screaming kids jumping around n eating n throwing apples into the pool. We left n went to the bar on the 30th floor. Nice martinis but miserable little cocktail nuts. We had a look at the buffet breakfast the next morning, a big selection of foods but the cafe was too crowded n cramped n noisy, so we went to Wagas cafe 2 minutes walk away for a peaceful tasty breakfast. We will not return to stay here

One of the great hotel I ever stay
Clean,comfortable,good location
I am very happy to stay in this hotel, it is one of the great hotel that I ever stay. I like the warmth environment, room is clean and bed is comfortable. 30th storey club is cosy. The only thing I felt disappointing was the front desk did not fulfilled my request made during my online booking. I requested a high floor river view room, but ends up they arranged me a 7th storey corner room face DBS building with partial river view. Hopefully the management can look into the customer request seriously.

Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai
Executive club floor coffee spoon small vs mug size. Even complaining they cld not substitute. The tall GM is rude to guests, one day I saw him hving dinner and complain about ine table guest was loud But the restaurant had only 4 table occupied.
