Family hotel relatively

At least have swimming pool and tennis court

Among many Macau hotels, there are just a few hotels have swimming pool and tennis court. Especially there are one small warm swimming pool area dedicated to adult only. Too bad! How about for the kids! (especially it is in Autumn and Winter). Good food in restaurant with cheap price for the buffet. Room is too old and need to decorate.

A different pace

service, particularly at the vasco bar and restaurant where Jackie Menez walks the perfect line between service and host
8.7
the grand lapa is one of those hotels that definitely does not fit in with its surroundings. to step into its lobby is to escape the disorientating dazzle of macau's many many casino complexes. (note the grand lapa does have a casino annexed to the hotel but it doesnt intrude upon the senses). heavy on dark wooden pannels and dim, soft lighting fixtures the lapa is a place of calm - considerate, relaxed, comforting. the rooms are a little dated but they dont crowd you, the decor is simple not pretenious with gloss. yet if it is the physcial that creates an impression it is the service and charm of the lapa's staff that weaves a memory. people like jackie menez the beverage and bar manager at lapa's vasco restaurant or rita at the front desk know just how to read a person's mood - to walk the line between attentive, unobtrusive service and disarming hosts. others have said it about the lapa, so i am merely adding to the chorus - if you are looking for a hotel where you dont melt into a throng of people, where the staff can make the experience a personal one - then the lapa has to be at the top of the list.

Fairly old. But comfortable. And worth a stay.

Traditional hotel stay experience

pros - big room with high standard - spacious, useful sport gym - huge swimming pool: like a resort hotel - tranquil lobby with atmosphere cons - old - almost nothing around hotel you will need nothing as far as you stay here. but sometimes you'll want to go out. then gotta get on a taxi. but when it rains, it gets harder to catch a taxi... that could cause an only problem if you stay here.

the room was comfortable and large enough for 2 people. the supply of bathroom amenities was also adequate, and the room is still kept in good condition despite being an old hotel. overall, this hotel provides guests with a value for money proposition.

The room is splendid! Great for couples who just want to rest and revive the "love". Very accessible also with free bus rides to Venetian Hotel in Taipa.

Spa facilities, huge rooms, designer shops at the lobby

We had a great time in this hotel. We enjoyed the spa facilities, the shopping opportunities and of course the close location to some major casinos (Grand Lisboa, Wynn). Food is great and the service is also excellent.

got stuck in macao an extra night on a weekend. had to find a room last minute, this was actually the best and cheapest option, although way more than im accustomed to. great service from the van through my departure the next day. turn down service was nice with hot tea. fresh fruit in the room on arrival- seems to be a macao thing. all the top end stores- seems to be an abundence of them in macao. didnt try any of the restaurants but theres a great locals type place over across the street near the waldo, but tough to cross the street.
Hotel Feature Tip: great fitness room, with some equipment i've never seen in the usa which uses your own body weight to work out with (not pilates stuff). staff eager to help.
