A nice Hotel, beautiful Lobby. Rooms small- ish, but nice. The street it is on is quiet, but the general area..... Near 2 Tube stations, very convienient, a Pub with Great Food around the corner. I Would stay there again if a good deal ( Price) was offered.

My only problem was the size of the room. Very small for superior room we stayed previously in a different room it was slightly bigger. You also had a problem with a draft as it was so close to the wall/window. Only just enough room to slide down the side of the bed.

It was quite a pleasant stay. The hotel is well located to main attractions, underground, sightseeing tour bus... The hotel is a very beatiful building, with nice decorations inside the reception area and other public areas... But to say that the room was small is to say nothing.. it was practically a box, where you had to jump from the door strait to the bed...There was no space even to open a suitecase... We didn't spend much time inside and I was with my daughter, so we were, so to say one and a halp persons... but seriously if you are two people i don't know how you will manage to get to your side of the bed.. The bathroom was even smaller. You literally couldn't sit on the toilet, if you are tall - you have nowhere to stretch you knees. In the shower cabin you can't even bend (for exmple there was nothing to put on a soap, so if it slips on the floor you would be unable even to pick it up - you would have to go out of the cabin (and this is another trick as there is a sink right at the door) and then try to pick it up somehow.... And my room was a delux room.. I am afraid even to think of what is a standart room then... Though to be honest - the room itself was rather pleasant - with nice morrows, lamps, big TV... If you don't care about the size - it's a nice place to stay

Convenient location

Location, old charm, friendly staff

The Grand Royale is a beautiful old hotel with warm service and comfortable rooms. As all London hotels - the rooms are very small, but has all the amenities one would need. Loved the daily fruit basket and coffee/tea making facilities in the room. The bed was very comfortable too. Location is the top attraction for me. The hotel is a mere 50 meters from Queensgate underground station and 100 meters from Bayswater underground station. There are numerous restaurants (brillian variety) located in the main road running parallel behind the hotel. There is also a pick up point for the Hop-on Hop-off London Tourist bus(about 150 meters) from the hotel.

Hassle-free and convenient

Proximity to train station, Quiet surroundings, Location
7.7
I booked a deluxe double room for 3 nights at the hotel because I read about its historical decor and proximity to the tube stations. Sure enough the location did not disappoint. It is a mere 5min walk to either Queensway or Bayswater. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park were just across the road. Room-wise, the bed was slightly creaky and there was little space to move around but I got by. Breakfast was a sumptuous spread and for the price, I think it's incredibly worth it.
