Good location & value

Location, Old charm & Value
stayed here for two nights in october 2011. after reading mixed reviews about this hotel i was unsure but can safely say that my stay was very good. hotel staff were always helpful & friendly. rooms were a good size was decent fittings. location was excellent, one street off the main central square & a short walk to the old town or ribeira.

Great old fashioned service

Character hotel - good location
a charming hotel (one of the oldest in porto. a little like stepping back in time as the hotel has clearly not changed much in the past 50 years. a pleasant change from many of the characterless modern hotels we stayed in in europe. during our stay a 'moliere' company of amateur actors appeared and performed an impromptu performance of 'the imaginary invalid' in the hotel foyer, quite delightful. breakfast was included in the hotel deal and was of a very high standard. only downside was the size of the bedroom which was rather cramped.
Restaurant Tip: Plenty of excellent (inexpensive) restaurants within walking distance

Great Porto Hotel

Friendly Staff, Good Breakfast, Great Location, Free wifi
I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Grande Paris thoroughly, and would definitely stay there again. It was a great value The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was pleasant - but very poorly lit. I requested a table lamp and even then the room was dark at night (during the day I had two large french doors letting in lots of light). I would request a room away from the street to reduce street noise, this is a fairly active area.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Porto is extremely difficult to navigate using a map and on foot because it's so hilly and the names of the street contuniously change. I recommend you pick a location far away, try to walk there, enjoy the sights on the way, and then take the bus back - the bus's are extremely easy, and from just about anywhere you can take a bus to Aliados or Loios which are 2 blocks from the hotel.

Nice hotel in central Oporto
A very nice traditional hotel with beautiful stairways. Really close to nice shopping and the train station. Takes about 45 minutes to get here from the airport.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Train to Regua and then boat back to Oporto.

accueil emplacement petit dej decorum
Hotel Feature Tip: interessant

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Cafe Majestic
