Very friendly staff and impressive service
The staff were very friendly and always welcomed us with big smiles; the hotel rooms were simple but clean; the breakfast buffet had a huge tasty selection
The hotel is slightly old and amenities are basic, but I'll stay at this hotel again the next time I visit Mandalay because of the staff - they were very friendly, and the service was impressive. I accidentally tipped several of my earrings down the basin one morning, and the hotel staff took apart the pipe to retrieve the earrings while I was away for the day, and wrapped them up nicely and left them at the reception for me when I returned. I felt very welcomed throughout the stay, and I'd highly recommend staying here if you are on a modest business trip. It's within convenient driving distances of the key sightseeing sights (about 10 minutes), and is good value. Internet is also relatively reliable.

No interntet in the room.
the room was big
I would not stay at this hotel again. The internet did not work in the room. The tiolet sink was leaking, breakfast was on the roof. Not very clean on the roof. Air conditioning in the lobby was poor. The only place internet signal was available was lobby with the mosquitos, and the poor air conditioning.

Great room, very friendly staff, location ok.
Lovely big room, all clean and comfortable. Staff friendly , helpful and with adequate English
We liked this hotel and it is only a short taxi ride to most things. Sure the wi-fi was intermittent and the hot water unreliable but I don't blame e hotel - this is Manderlay, Myanmar not Manhatten or Melbourne. Initially I was put off by many negative comments but now I've been there I think they are a bit harsh.

Hotel on busy street far from center
Lobby with sofas and travel office
The hotel is too expensive considering the status. The place needs renovation. The lobby looks ok and the rooms are quite big, but renovation would help. When the window was closed the noise from the street was hard to hear. There must be some renovation going on, as during daytime we could hear some hammering. The roof top restaurant is in a desperate status and not inviting at all. Breakfast Asian type, which for us was ok but most likely for other people not. Far from center, they arrange taxis but as Mandalay has not many taxis on the road, we decided to keep taxi waiting when we went on trips or for food. This becomes costly. An hour costs 6000 K driving or waiting.

Necessity proved fortunate
We had a junior suite and size was exceptional
hotel bookings in myanmar are very popular with boom in business and tourist visitors. my travelling companion and i wanted single rooms but none available and we were forced to share a junior suite. it was very large (with good separation between the beds so my snoring was minimised). a/c was good . we hired a car and driver through the hotel for sightseeing at a reasonable price. hotel is a quite a distance from town centre.breakfast was geared more to asian tastes than western.
