Lovely Stay Lovely Villa

Pool, Open-air shower, kind staff
I really enjoyed my stay at Green Chaka. It is definitely for those who want a homestay/ Indonesian villa vibe. It was very clean and comfortable and the skylighted shower was a nice touch.

Great location pity about the squirrels...

Very quiet and peaceful away from the main road, lovely setting very tranquil. comfortable rooms and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We really enjoyed staying at the Green chakra, very beautiful garden, peaceful and relaxing. It would have been perfect except a family of squirrels decided to make their next in the ceiling of our room. It started slowly, the 2nd night we were there we heard 5 mins of rustling, squeaking and footfalls in the ceiling, at first I thought it was a rat and told the staff the next morning. It got progressively worse and louder and longer. We saw a squirrel get into the ceiling in the daytime through a hole so figured it out pretty quickly. On our last night it was so bad we couldn't sleep. All night the squirrels were running squeaking and nest building. We used our noise cancelling headphones to sleep. We had told the staff about this for 4 days in a row and they had looked concerned but not done anything. on the last day one said he knew as his room was behind ours and he could hear them too.We politely requested a refund or discount of some sort for the last night, and asked if we could speak to the owner about it. We had trouble communicating as the phone line was poor quality. He offered us an $8 discount. We feel that it was poor service and that the room shouldn't be rented out in this state. I don't think they took our concern seriously at all and I wouldn't reccomend staying at this Villa if they don't deal with the wildlife. It would be impossible for anyone to sleep in that room while the squirrels are nesting in the ceiling. I feel sorry for the next guests!

The Balinese Experience

Affordable, Excellent Customer Service and Authentic Balinese
Out of hundreds of hotels in Bali, we picked Green Chaka because of it's authentice feel of the Balinese culture. We absolutely love the decors. It's tranquil. Chandra and his staff were wonderful. Always serving us with a smile. At first, we were sceptical of the place. In our language, "chaka" is an colloquial term for ugly. This place is anything but. I hope to be back soon.

A lovely and peaceful stay!

beautiful decor/design; kind and helpful staff; swimming pool
I spent three nights at Green Chaka following several months in Timor-Leste, and it was the perfect place to relax and recharge before returning home to the US. As others have pointed out, Chandra (the owner) is extremely kind, hospitable, and knowledgeable. The room and premises were spotless, and the details of the decor were just lovely (i.e. beautiful carved wood furniture, canopy bed, amazing garden surrounding the pool, etc). I loved relaxing over my breakfast each morning by the pool. The vibe was great -- Chandra and his staff are great about being available to chat or provide information when you need it, but also giving you the space and freedom to relax and make yourself at home. The villa is conveniently located near a great shopping area in Seminyak (clothing stores, cafes and restaurants, spas, etc) and a 10-minute walk from the beach. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Bali!

An Oasis

Seclusion & peaceful, friendliness of staff & proprietor, idylic setting
As we walked down the narrow pathway from the busy road to the Villa we had no idea what to expect. The traditional wooden doors opened to reveal a Balinese oasis. An idylic pool surrounded by lush tropical plants leading to a small A framed building housing the 3 well separated apartments. The apartment we had was well maintained, clean, and georgeous. The staff we attentative and friendly. the incuded beakfast was great. Overall a great experience and wouldnt hestitate to recommend

Fantastick tranquil oasis

The persian cats Rama and Shinta, the lush surroundings, the tranquility
Our stay here was excellent. Friendly cats, excellent staff and service, lush gardens, wonderfully appointed villa, lots of wildlife. A brilliant tranquil oasis from the hustle & bustle of Seminyak.

Little piece of paradise amongst the rubble

location to restaurants, pool, serenity
Green Chaka has only three suites and an outdoor area and a communal fridge and kitchen- I believe there is an extension being built at the moment as the kitchen area appears to be closed off- it looks larger in other photos. The pool is gorgeous and the accommodation is very quiet, despite the building frenzy going on around it. The surrounding area is not attractive but eventually will be, and thus prices will probably increase. It is walking distance to three of the most popular and celebrated restaurants in the area: Sarong, Potato Head and Biku. Closest access to the beach is via Potato Head; down a long alley. The three resident animals: Two Persian cats and Barong the "guard" dog have all been rescued from cages and love their new lives. They are all brushed within an inch of their lives. All staff speak English well and are very helpful and friendly.
